Über diesen Titel

Librarian Syd Murphy flees the carnage of a failed marriage by accepting an 18-month position in Jericho - a small town in the Appalachian Mountains of Virginia. The story is so wholesome, the characters very likeable and I listened to it quite a few times. Its like a movie or series I love to watch again and again.

4.5 To make it short, I loved every minute of this audiobook. Christine Williams did a really great job as narrator.

I was actually stunned how quickly I was immersed into the story and its characters. Both MCs, librairian Syd and town doctor Maddie, are super likeable and we get real character development over 20 hours. Yes, it's not the most exciting book on earth, but I loved it nonetheless.

In the first few hours, I had the impression that the scenes were ending somewhat abruptly. But that was only until about half of the book. After that, the story really flowed.

One minor thing that bugged me was the amount of wine consumed in this book. They consumed bottle after bottle after bottle, with a little coffee thrown in between. Not cool at all.

Otherwise, after the MCs got together, there were still about four hours to go and I asked myself what was coming next, because before that the built up was huge, and after that... Well there were no real things left I needed closure with (there was for Syd's parents though). It's not that I lost interest, but it's wasn't all that exciting anymore if that makes any sense. The book is very angst free. I'm still really glad that I kept on listening because the story was overall great and as I said, I loved every minute of it. The characters were just so loveable.
