Schade, dass es nicht mehr deutsche Hörbücher von Jae gibt.
Aber bei der tollen Sprecherin ist Englisch gar kein Problem gewesen.

Man kann nie etwas falsch machen, wenn man Bücher von Jae hört oder liest. Ich mag, wie man nach und nach die Charaktere besser kennenlernt und auch die Gefühle und Gedanken beleuchtet werden. Jae nimmt sich in ihren Büchern Zeit für die Geschichte. Auch mag ich, dass es kein ewiges hin und her gibt, keine großen Dramen oder toxischen Beziehungen, die dann angeblich doch noch glücklich enden.

In diesem Buch gefällt mir besonders, dass u.a. Personen mit Vorurteilen und Schubladenken direkt begegnet und so auch damit aufgeräumt wird. Alltägliche Situationen, die bestimmt einige Leser:innen / Hörer:innen kennen.
Die Story an sich ist auch wirklich schön.

Another great book written by Jae. What starts with an innocent text message and later transforms in so much more. Iit’s a great length book. The characters are great developed and the storyline beautifully created with themes like toaster oven, bi, age gap, slow burn.

Narration: This audiobook is narrated by Angela Dawe one of the narration queens in wlw romance audiobooks. As always she does a fantastic job in letting the characters becoming alive.

Diese Überschrift passt perfekt . Eine wunderschöne Geschichte zum dahin schmelzen . Ich muss der Leserin recht geben , selbst mit meinem schlechten Englisch, war das Hörbuch mit dieser Sprecherin gut zu verstehen. Dennoch hoffe ich , ich denke noch viele andere , das es diese Hörbüch mal auf deutsch gibt ..

Wow how much I loved this book. It’s a slow-burn story at its best. Just typical for Jae. And while we often get to read about characters with a perfect body this story is different. As a change we get to read about people that don’t fit into the typical box that society thinks people have to look. Even if for Denny and Eliza the other one looks perfect from the outside but most importantly from the inside. And they have regular jobs, another thing I loved. I felt so close to both characters exactly because of those things. I definitely don’t see myself as beautiful and often struggle with myself. So this story really was just so wonderful to read. It also made me smile so many times and just made me feel good in general.

Both characters are just lovable. I fell in love with both of them and how they treated each other. And well Denny is just such a wonderful human being with her Shane’s but honesty at the same time. She reminded me so much of myself. Aside from those two, there are some wonderful side characters. I often wished for a sister in my life and Salem definitely would be the sister I always wanted. Also Eliza‘s friend Heather is just the friend you want to have in your life. I’m secretly hoping that Heather gets her own story at some point. There is definitely lots of potential there. ☺️

I highly recommend this book including the audiobook. Angela Dawe once more did an amazing job. She totally could read a phone book to me and I would be happy to listen. Lol

I liked the premise of accidentally texting someone and then keep on doing that until a friendship develops. The story starts funny and I giggled a lot while in the end I was almost crying all the time because ALL the characters are so lovable and kind to each other.
