Thin plot

This was by first book by D.S. Butler and I struggled to complete it and found it pointless at the end. The investigating team was naive and seemed to have no plan. I had noticed things that they had ignored and worked out who they should have been concentrating her efforts on. Plus, the main character was not all that likeable and the villains were caricatures.
