80% noise and screaming, only 20% beercan

Not worth your time really. Story is fun, but it is just too much work to ignore the constant background noise. I can imagine that the voice actors had a lot of fun recording, but whoever mixed this down for consumption was either underpaid or not qualified. I hope this never happens again otherwise I will have to go back to reading again to drown out all the unproductive NOISE!!!!!!

too much noise

I enjoyed the new voices a lot but the all too common background noise often cancelled them out making it quite difficult to understand.
Like did there have to be BG in the dutchmans cockpit?

Let's please stick to R.C. Bray performing alone

I can hardly stand listening to this. Fortunately it's only a few hours long. I will only finish this, so I can keep up with the storyline. Otherwise I would have returned it.
No more audio dramas please! Let us just have fun with R.C. Bray's performances. This is awful.

never heard anything with that bad

really, really bad. More than half of the audio book consists of incomprehensible screaming and very bad and annoying shooting noises. Story is ok if you like the rest of the series.

Worst.... !! Please! No more like this!!

Sorry i tried!!! But i cant get thru this anymore... I love Skippy and the crew but "homefront" is a scrambled mix of bad sounds... I think i have heard some kidstoys.... Its disturbing and Annoying! I would rather hear Skippy singing than listen to such loveless s.... Bring back RC Style! IT WORKS

Story is good but...

the new story telling style isn't my favourite.. Lot of nice effects etc. but I like the old style more..
Nevertheless, Scippy and Jo are entertaining

Surprisingly well done and enjoyable

It was actually really good! I loved getting a closer look at the action, similar to book 1. I feel like the newer books focused more on a panoramic view on events with big time jumps and more telling than showing which was getting a bit boring tbh. This series profits from great action sequences and I hope there will be more in the future. The voice actors were great (although I personally imagined many of them a bit tougher and less giggly...) especially Smythe. RC Bray was genius as always. I could follow the action well, even the louder parts, even though I'm breaking the Geneva Conventions in Rimworld while listening to the audiobook. So maybe some of the commentors need to listen a bit better :) this changed my opinion on audio dramas!

the epic opera you always wanted from skippy

so this book is totally different from all other books. first, it is told by skippy, from his perspective (sorta) and features a full audio cast. so yes it features „real“ dialoges and is more like a wild over the top episode of a sitcom. it is different, but I like it! it is a fun little excursion into the stars teams.
