Wer sich für Mythologie interessiert, dem kann ich dieses Hörbuch empfehlen. Hier werden alle großen Mythologien der Welt vorgestellt. Es macht Lust sich näher mit diesem Thema zu beschäftigen.

Nice lecture

These are many audiobooks in one, covering all regions of the world. Although from different authors, they form a consistent and whole body of narrations. Starting from the well known european myths, going to the strange myths of japan and to the myths of the americas (only to mention a few). They are full of wonderful stories and only now and then give background and relationships to other myths. For me this has been a pleasent and entertaining experience that almost passingly gave me a broad overview on how the people used to think and feel in the dawning of the narrated world.
(And btw: There is no "feminism" in these books, as others have criticised. But of course one can learn - among many other things - that some other world regions have stronger and stranger roles for women than europe ....)

Mit über 30 Stunden Laufzeit ist "Great Mythologies" der längste Kurse in der Serie "Weltliteratur". Aber auch bei der doppelten Laufzeit wäre wahrscheinlich keine Langweile aufgekommen. Die ausgewählten Mythen sind so vielfältig wie die Kulturen, die sie hervorgebracht haben. Inhaltlich der einzige Kritikpunkt ist, dass Südamerika mit nur einem Beitrag (von insgesamt 60) arg stiefmütterlich behandelt wurde. Bei den Sprechern hat mich Kathryn McClymont begeistert - selten so eine angenehme Stimme gehört. Julius Bailey dagegen zerdehnt die Satzenden auf schwer erträgliche Weise.

I prefer a lecture on mythology, instead of being preached to about feminism. This is just not educational.

Im Sick and tired of instead of talking about the topics at hand there has to so mutch time waisted of things like feminisms or other topics that were not the point nor advertised. You can talk about these things but keep it out of topics that have nothing to do with it. At the very least warn people about it. Now I waisted a credit on something I have no interest in.
