I have to keep reminding myself of this. That’s why I’ve revised my review. The male lead put the Brotherhood and all its members in danger just to satisfy his own thirst for revenge. He condemned his protégé to a life of suffering. How foolish is it to do that just for the sake of revenge, when it’s a lifelong bond? He’s the worst character in the series, but I liked the ending. I was sooo angry, which is why my first review was harsh... In fact, all the books in the series are misogynistic. Remember, it’s a fantasy story! He’s only in the Brotherhood because the Big Boss fought for him. He was actually unsuitable.
Like most mafia women, the female lead is a bit boring and weak, but she was in the right place and in the right hands. She didn’t put up a fight. She ran after him in sky-high heels and on a leash. Well, he held her responsible for what had happened to his sister. The tables turned. Now he felt guilty for what he’d done to her. I recommend this book. I’m a freedom-loving person, which is why I had major issues with this story.
