Über diesen Titel
I never planned to give my V-card to a gorgeous stranger I met at a bar.
But for once I didn't let myself overthink things. In the few hours we spent together, he managed to push me outside my comfort zone.
And I loved every second.
I never expected to see him again. Let alone sitting at the head of the boardroom table during my architectural firm's pitch to design his new hotel chain.
Turns out the man I spent one steamy night of passion with is Cole King, billionaire COO of the King Group. And unlike our previous encounter, when it comes to business, he’s as cold as ice.
Now I’m working for him, and it’s… challenging.
He’s arrogant, demanding, and seems to delight in pushing my buttons. But with every “one-on-one” meeting he insists we have, the memory of that night simmers between us.
I should never have agreed when he proposed a no-strings-attached arrangement, but I wanted to experience more of what he could give me.
I didn’t mean to trade my heart in return.
Now it’s too late.
Because no matter the warmth his touch brings, Cole is as icy in love as he is in business.
And I’m the one who’s going to get burned.
Coldhearted King is a full-length, spicy, one-night stand, billionaire workplace romance, with a virgin heroine, a dirty-talking hero, and a guaranteed happily ever after. It's the first book in the Empty Kingdom billionaire romance series but can be listened to as a standalone.

I’m always down for a solid billionaire, boss/employee romance, add a one-night stand and duet narration by two of my favorite narrators, and it was a total no-brainer for me. While there’s no big suspense trope or overly dramatic plot twists, the story was constantly tense, and the chemistry between Cole and Delilah carried the book effortlessly.
📖 Story
Even without high-stakes drama, this book stayed engaging from start to finish. The tension was well done, the romance felt natural, and I was invested the entire time. It proves that you don’t need chaos to keep a reader hooked — strong chemistry does the job just fine.
👩🦰👨💼 Character Development
I absolutely adored Delilah as an FMC. Even at 24, she was smart, capable, and strong — and most importantly, she didn’t let anyone feed her bullshit. Watching her grow into a more confident version of herself felt authentic and earned.
Cole, on the other hand, is your classic cold, distant, broody, emotionally guarded MMC — but still likable. Once his reasons for being that way were revealed, his behavior made sense, and his emotional softening over time felt realistic rather than cheesy.
My one real downside here was the virgin trope. It didn’t feel necessary to the story and honestly would’ve worked just as well without it.
I was also a bit sad about the brother dynamic (or lack thereof). As someone who loves strong sibling bonds and banter, the distant, almost nonexistent relationship between the brothers felt like a missed opportunity — though Tate’s small moments definitely made me curious for the next book.
🔥 Spice
The spice came early, was steamy, and pretty frequent — but not always overly descriptive on the page. I actually liked that balance a lot. It kept things hot without overwhelming the story.
✍️ Writing
The writing style was fluent, logical, and clean. No unnecessary filler, no dragging scenes just to bulk up the page count. Everything served the story, which I really appreciated.
🎧 Narration
Top. Notch. As expected.
Teddy Hamilton absolutely ate this role — his portrayal of a distant, broody, sex-driven billionaire was delicious. CJ Bloom as Delilah was equally fantastic, bringing confidence, softness, and strength to the character. The duet narration elevated the entire experience and kept me fully immersed.
