I really enjoyed Danny and Charlie’s story—it had everything I love in a romance. The chemistry between them was undeniable, the slow burn was delicious, and the tension was so intense that I often found myself going back to reread whole paragraphs just to relive that toe-curling, face-flaming spark. On top of that, this book was genuinely funny. Charlie’s inner monologues and insecurities made me laugh out loud, and I had a permanent smile on my face while reading, even when her assumptions and miscommunications were driving me a little crazy.

The setting in London added another layer of charm, and because Rosa Lucas is a British author, the slang, places, and humor felt authentic and perfectly on point. That dry British wit really gave the story its own flavor, and the mix of forbidden romance, brother’s best friend tension, and an age gap with British/Scottish charm made it such an addictive read.

I also have to highlight the audiobook, which is excellent. Kitty Kelly brought Charlie’s humor and vulnerability to life beautifully, while Ciaran Saward’s narration of Danny was just the right mix of intensity and warmth. Together they made the chemistry between the characters practically leap off the page (or speakers, in this case).

I read Taming Mr. Walker in 2024 and again in 2025, and both times it was a solid five-star experience for me. A romance that’s funny, heartfelt, and very spicy—I loved every second of it.

Nicht das man das Buch nicht gut weghören könnte, wenn nur nicht die weibliche Hauptfigur so einfältig gezeichnet wäre. Ich verstehe ja dass man für die Storyline ein bisschen konstruieren muss, aber es fällt so schwer Charlie ins Herz zu schließen. Leider wird das kein Favorit von mir.

I loooove the story, the pining, the main characters, the explosive chemistry, the age gap and the spice level. Charly is such a hellcat and her friends are hillarious. Danny is super hot and his pining and longing for Charly is priceless. The narrators are cast to perfection and their performance is excellent. 10/10
