• “Stuck in Your Head? Try This Mindfulness Practice for Recovery”.
    Jun 25 2025

Are ruminating thoughts pulling you out of the present moment? You're not alone. In this bonus recovery episode, Ardy shares how mindfulness helped her shift her relationship with mental loops—and how you can begin to do the same.

Whether you're in early recovery, long-term sobriety, or managing trauma and anxiety, this gentle, research-backed practice offers a new way to relate to the noise in your mind.

    ☁️ You’ll learn:

    • What rumination really is

    • Why it happens in recovery

    • A simple breathing space practice to ground yourself

    • How mindfulness offers space, not a quick fix

Plus, Ardy gets real about her own hamster-wheel thoughts, the myth of “fixing it,” and the power of practice over perfection.

🧠✨ Links to the science behind mindfulness and rumination are in the show notes.

🎙️ Let this be your invitation back to the breath, the body, and the present.

What happens when a therapist refuses to water herself down—and invites others to do the same? 🌊✨

In this powerful conversation, Ardy sits down with Esperansa, a fierce and compassionate clinician 🧠💖 whose work spans jails 🏛️, psychiatric units 🏥, and the hearts of women healing from trauma 💔➡️💗.

Together, they explore what it means to be called "too much"—and how that label often hides our greatest gifts 🎁.

Esperansa shares raw truths 🔥 about working in a system designed for men, the emotional toll of invisibility 😶, and the importance of helping women feel truly seen 👁️—sometimes for the first time in their lives.

From CPR dummies without breasts 🫃 to the quieting of women's voices across generations 🤐➡️🔊, this conversation names the weight 🪨 and offers the medicine 🧪.

In one of the most emotional moments of the podcast, Esperansa honors her beloved niece, Amber 🕊️, whose life was lost to a one-time fentanyl overdose 💔 after 100 days of sobriety. Her story is a reminder of why we keep showing up—for ourselves, for our loved ones, for the possibility of healing 🌱.

    Friday, May 2nd

    4 min 30 sec

This Week Didn’t Go as Planned — And That’s Okay | Recovery Sisterhood Podcast

This episode is different. I had to cancel my first podcast interview due to a sudden health scare—an unexpected shortness of breath that sent me to urgent care and forced me to slow down. It was scary, humbling, and eye-opening. 😔

As someone in long-term recovery, I realized I’d been drifting away from a core part of my healing journey: mindfulness. I used to teach it, live it, breathe it—and somewhere along the way, I let it go. But this experience brought me back. Back to the breath. Back to the present moment. Back to what really matters. 🌬️

In this episode, I share openly about what happened, what I learned, and how it’s leading me to renew my mindfulness practice by getting re-certified. I’m also inviting you to join me on this journey. If you're curious about incorporating mindfulness into your recovery in a gentle, non-pressure way, please reach out. I’ll be sharing what I learn, freely and from the heart. Email me if you're interested. 💞

Let’s honor the breath. Let’s honor our recovery. And let’s not take a single moment for granted.
