  • EDP72: Gold Coast Half Marathon Race Recap / Pre-Classic
    Jul 8 2026

The lads are back in what was a massive week of running.

We kick things off with Eoin's unforgettable Tour de France experience in Font-Romeu, from roadside crowds and Ben Healy souvenirs to Tommy Foster's viral TV appearance. Back in Perth, Dean's starting to feel like himself again on the track, while Ryan reflects on a breakthrough weekend at the Gold Coast Half Marathon.

On the Gold Coast, Haftu Strintzos shocked everyone by breaking the Australian marathon record in what was only his 3rd attempt over the distance. In the Half, Izzi Batt-Doyle did what she does best and demolished the field.

Over in Eugene at the Pre Classic, the Aussies were on fire as Cam Myers won the Bowerman Mile while also breaking the Australian record for the mile.

Ryan takes us inside every kilometre of his new PB, explaining the race plan, the gamble of latching onto Izzi Batt-Doyle's group, managing the headwind, trusting the heart rate, and the mindset that carried him to a 67:31. We also discuss what the performance says about his future over the marathon, how cycling may have contributed to the comeback, and whether there's even more to come.

We then recap a huge weekend on the Gold Coast, including Haftu Strintzos' sensational Australian marathon record, Izzi Batt-Doyle's amazing win in the half marathon, standout performances across the marathon and half marathon fields, and what made the event so special.

There is a bit of Double Trouble involved with toilet difficulties on course..

    Jun 16 2026

Welcome to the 69th episode of the Easy Double Podcast. Just Ryan and Dean this week as Eoin takes some annual leave while he is getting settled in the French Pyrenees.

In a massive show we chat all things Oslo Diamond League: Ethiopia dominate the women's 3000m, teenage sensation Cooper Lutkenhaus dominates the men's 800m taking down some massive names. The men's 5000m didn't disappoint either, with some of the lads making the 13-minute barrier look like a walk in the park.

We chat all things NCAA as they concluded, and the LA Grand Prix.

In running news, we learn that triathlete Alex Yee is set to run the Monaco Diamond League, while Cape Town gets named the 8th World Marathon Major.

  • EDP68: Rome & Stockholm Diamond League Round Up / Eoin's 5000m Race Review
    Jun 9 2026

It's hard to keep up at this stage but the lads are back with more race results. First up is the Paavo Nurmi Games in Finland 🇫🇮 where there was an extremely stacked 5000m where only half the field finished and a deep 1500m.

Next it was the 🇮🇹 Rome Diamond League where M11 Track Club's Georgia Hunter Bell got the win in her season opener while Keely Hodgkinson mixed things up and ran a 400m. In the 5000m, Ethiopia showed their dominance claiming the top 7 spots while Linden Hall from Australia and Sarah Healy from Ireland both got shiny new PBs.

Then to 🇸🇪Stockholm where again the fields didn't disappoint. Young American Cooper Lutkenhaus got the win over a star studded line up while another young gun Audrey Werro got a shock win over Keely Hodgkinson in the women's 800m, clocking the third fastest time ever. To conclude the event, Yared Nuguse stole Cam Myers' spotlight and out-kicked the young Australian in an enthralling men's 1500m.

You think that's all but it's not. The lads preview the 🇳🇴 Oslo Diamond League where again the fields are ridiculously deep, with the highlight event being the Dream Mile.

Eoin talks us through his disappointing 5000m on the track where he learned a lesson or two but was able to take the positives.

📺 In YouTube Diaries we give you guys a heads up on Team Makou's channel as they release a teaser on a series following Ellis Cross's build to the European Marathon later in the summer.

👊 In Double Trouble the lads take aim at head coach ChatGPT and while coach GPT can be helpful, he will never make it as a top coach.

All this and so much more in another stacked episode of the Easy Double Podcast.

As always we dive into the races, the stories behind them and everything else going on in the running world.

Then finally, in 🇲🇦 Rabat, Morocco, some star-studded fields kicked off their season at the Rabat Diamond League.

👊 A massive downhill road race in Madrid gets this week's Double Trouble treatment, as the lads struggle to comprehend why this is even a thing.

    May 26 2026

🇧🇪 Eoin gives a full on-the-ground recap from the IFAM meet in Brussels after running a 14:15 track PB over 5000m in one of Europe’s famously stacked midnight races. We discuss the chaos of heat allocations, racing at midnight, navigating massive fields and what it’s actually like trying to race hard in the middle of a European heatwave.

🇦🇺 Back home in Perth, Ryan breaks down his 4th place finish at the HBF Run 12k in 38:21 after throwing himself into the race from the gun in pursuit of the win. We discuss race tactics, tunnel surges, weaving through thousands of runners, heart rate paranoia, nitrate timing and why racing on feel might still trump all the sports science.

Before we started, we also shared our thoughts and condolences to the friends and family of the runner who tragically lost their life at HBF Run yesterday. Incredibly sad news.

🇨🇳 Over in China, we unpack another huge Diamond League:
    • Abby Caldwell wins again in the women’s 1500m
    • Jess Hull, Claudia Hollingsworth and Sarah Billings continue the Commonwealth Games selection headache
