The Single Mother The single mother sings a lullaby for two; the strong one the child turns to, the man of the house she has to be, the gentle one the child turns to, the woman of the house she has to be. Her fears are not to be her child’s, Her tears are to be her own, shed in the dead of the night,all alone. She dare not long for herself, nor dream anymore.Oh, what can the future possibly hold?Giant shadows of fearchase her through the night,as the world asks, is that right? Listen girl,

You will pay a huge price

to speak your mind,

to stay curious,

to chart your own course,

to believe in your own voice,

to exult in your own successes,

to define your own joys,

and to walk in your own courage.

Listen girl,

you will pay a huge price,

sometimes almost with your life,

Listen girl,

It will still have been worth it,

as you heal from being battered and bruised,

broken and beaten by this ugly world,

So, keep going.

Don't stop.

Listen my girl,

They won't know what it is to own themselves,

the way you own you.

They will hate you

because you won't bend.

And, you love being you.

And, you are here to win.

Listen girl,

keep walking,

leaving the others far behind.

There are a few who walk along,

Join the tribe,

It is small but growing,

Listen my girl,

You are not alone.

Never alone.

So, hang in there.

And, keep walking.

In the immediate future, how will we be eliminated to make the planet exclusive for the self-chosen few? Who among us would be safe, retained and who would be considered superfluous and a deadweight?

Which category are you? The easily and visibly belligerent? The silent watcher? The stupid mass? The enabler keen to stay close to the powers and hoping for safety? The morally corrupt egomaniac? The walking dead? The helpless feelers? The alert and the awake?

Is it only a matter of time, or are we closing our eyes to the emerging bio wars, wealth consolidation, preparation with bunkers, economic consolidation or the fall of democracies and the high inflation? Is AI replacing our jobs or us?

Everyone is sensing what we are headed towards. This episode pins it down.

As the world changes rapidly around us, the critical question of what it is to remain human is on us. Our memories, our time, our brains, our earnings,, our labour, our art, our fertility, our food, health, security are all under threat from multiple fronts.

We own nothing and human life and its value has never been under a higher existential threat. As chips enter our bodies and brains to control our machines, which in turn will control our futures, what is the single act of defiance, sanity and resilience we can still exercise?
