    Inhaltsangabe

You Are a Badass is the self-help audiobook for people who desperately want to improve their lives but don't want to get busted doing it.

In this refreshingly entertaining how-to guide, best-selling author and world-travelling success coach Jen Sincero serves up 27 bite-size chapters full of hilariously inspiring stories, sage advice, easy exercises, and the occasional swear word, helping you to:

    • Identify and change the self-sabotaging beliefs and behaviours that stop you from getting what you want.
    • Create a life you totally love. And create it now.
    • Make some damn money already. The kind you've never made before.

By the end of You Are a Badass, you'll understand why you are how you are, how to love what you can't change, how to change what you don't love and how to use The Force to kick some serious ass.

    A-M-A-Z-I-N-G

This book changed my life - even though this might seem a little over the top.
Please please please read it, listen to it, remember it. Over and over again!

    Title misleading & poor content

I found the content very poor. The title is How to be a badass, yet it was more of a how-to-love-yourself help book and way too spiritual for me, with focusing on one’s frequency and all. I’d find it ok to have a bit of such content as well, which also surely makes sense if you want to gain more self-conscience, but it was only that and definitely not what I had hoped for. Might be a good choice if you want a guide on self-love, with tips in the style of: if you don’t appreciate yourself yet, you just have to do it.

Helps getting unstuck, hard to listen to

What I loved: a great reminder to stop the excuses, go after what you truly desire and trust that it will happen.

What I didn't like: the author seems preachy, like she really has to convince even herself that all she is saying is true. She "proves" that with elaborate anecdotes of her life, it seems overly simplified. I also didn't enjoy her writing style, over all it didn't feel authentic to me.

Nevertheless, she repeats information that every spiritual guide or self-help guru teaches, and as such it is a good reminder of these basics.

    The Secret

A pretty miserable book! If you believe in miracles and that the universe will bring you money and endless joy if you just believe in it, this is the book for you. There is practically no useful advice in this book, nothing to actually do! Just believe in yourself and work your ass of and then the universe will give you everything. It’s almost ridiculous! I gave it a 2 star rating only because the author seems like a nice person. But the content is an absolute catastrophy!!

    listened >13 times

I am listening to this book for the 14th time. It has had serious effects on the way I think and how I relate to my goals. I can highly recommend it, especially if you're just getting to know the self-help world and aren't into all the cheese.

Just another spin on typical new age LOW bs

Unfortunately neither the description nor the reviews on audible reveal, what this audiobook is really about.
When the author started to appeal to supernatural stuff with every keyword from any old and new age belief system, like god, the universe, life energy and what not, i knew i bought a pig in a poke. I couldn't bear to listen to it more than 30 minutes. There should be disctinct categories for books rooted in actual facts and science and books that are based on wishful thinking and make-belief. I know even those help many people. Probably sounding like an arrogant ahole, i'd say they just don't know better. But the attitude "belief whats useful, not what's right" conlicts with my core values. I think there's a way of achieving both, with the "right" part in a factual sense having priority. In the future i'll start reading the bad reviews from the actual books on amazon instead.
Fortunately, i can return it and get my my monthly point back.
