Stoff für darbende Veronica Mars Fans

First off, I must say I am a huge VM fan - TV series, movie, and now the books. The second novel "Mr. Kiss and Tell" is paced a bit faster, and the storyline is more complex. The novel directly follows "A Million Dollar Tan Line" and has more of Veronica and Logan than the first part. All in all, it's a fun read.

As far as the reader is concerned, I would have a hard time with anyone who is not Kristen Bell. IMHO, she read the first VM-audiobook so well that one could often recognize the characters from Bell's changed speech-pattern alone.

Rebecca Lowman is a complete change from Bell's perkiness. Lowman reads more slowly and in an almost depressed tone that does not fit at all. Veronica's snarkiness and the snappy dialogue both get lost in the unnecessarily dark mood Lowman's performance creates. She is probably a good performer but I find her to be the wrong choice for the VM-books.

Habe mehrmals überlegt, aufzuhören. Habe selten eine so gelangweilt scheinende Sprecherin gehört. Absolute Fehlbesetzung!
Dabei lebt doch Veronica Mars gerade von schnellen Dialogen und einem grundsätzlich höherem Tempo.
Ohne die Erzählgeschwindigkeit nicht mindestens auf 1.25 zu stellen, war es absolut nicht auszuhalten.
Die Story an sich war gut, spannend und in typischer VM-Manier spannend bis Punkt x, an dem man anhand des Buchtitels glaubt zu wissen, wer der Täter ist.
