I have heard this audiobook and I can truly say, it was perfect. I don't know if I will ever return for the second volume because this book felt like the perfect stand alone. I don't know if I want to chance this perfect content feeling in my chest on book 2.

At least that what every character ever and the mainchara in particular seems to want from the world.

Well, all in all this is the very corny and cheesy and a bit tropy story of a dying blacksmith who gets to learn how to play an VR MMO.
That all said, I had a good time with this book – ignoring all the plot holes and overreaction characters. Its written by somebody who clearly smiths himself or likes to read the theory about it.
So if RPG lit stories are your thing and you don’t mind to let the odd laps in writing slip the characters are charming, the story is easy to follow and im looking forward to see them battle the evil lawmakers in the next one!

Somehow this audiobook is more about politics than it is about smithing.
It does throw up some interesting ethical questions about the future of VR, Fulldive technology and hyper realistic immersion though.

while the story is great if we overlook the large amount of politics and plotholes, the narrator just ruins it by speaking way too fast. I had to slow down to 0.85x to follow with what was being said

the Story is awesome but the narrator thinkst he is payed words/seconds.
the voice is nice but the speed is horror and as a non nativ i needet to slow down the book the first time in my live to understand it.
