This book had my on the edge of my seat all the time, the story is always moving, new reveals dropping.
I like to imagine Dom bulkier and turned the narration speed to 0,9. Since then I have been more than fine.
Dom is threatened by someone referring to the "King of Hearts" but refuses to get involved with his past.
Kempthorne and Co. take on the case of a serial killer, who's been targeting latents and Dom jumps on the case the distract himself.
Hollywood is in the team too and makes for a wonderful distraction. But none of the man in of Doms interest seems to know what the really want. Talking about feelings and truths is something you don't do with the men you're hot for? And nobody knows who will go how far for their own goals and hurt the other by doing so.

Favorite quote:
"So we see dead people. Is there any good news?"... "My shirt looks good on you"

The book is very hard on Dom, giving and taking good and bad things in a fast pace. But it might become my favorite, depending on what is to come in the next one.

Perfekt tension, very exiting

This story lives by its characters, and those are amazing. First, there's protagonist Dom, who knows what he's up against, struggles with his past and his future and manages to be relatable despite being opposed at every corner. There's "Hollywood", who has his own agenda and who Dom likes a lot, who could be so very good or so very bad. It's unclear which way it's going, frankly. And there's Alexander, enigmatic, secretive, manipulative and despite that one of the Good Guys. Possibly. And sine they're both Dom's love interests and both morally grey, the tension is off the roof.
The story itself works wonderfully with these characters. It has tension and a great mystery -what's Campthorne up to, what is Hollywood 's role, who is killing people and smuggling artifacts? So many questions!
I can't wait to listen to the second story!
