a great book about what it takes to be a man. sometimes it sounds a bit too much like the discription of the american ideal soldier man of the past but that might be just me. the best part I would say was the mentioning of the problems that internalized masculinity creates in society especially in the regards of the competitions between women and men.

Ein interessantes Buch, jedoch schlecht gelesen. Kein professioneller Sprecher.

Erinnert mich von der Audioqualität her an mp3 Sticks von vor 20 Jahren, als man Audiodateien noch auf wenige kb komprimiert hat um überhaupt ein paar Sachen auf sein Gerät zu bekommen.

good ideas and view points that do make sense from a scientific point of view. It's a courageous book. Strength, Courage, Mastery and Honor in a gang...yes! He also stays consistent in the end: a return of the old male world can only come through violence. Men are not going to file a request nor to fight women.
He points it out: there will never be a happy end. Only the balancing between order and chaos.

I am born in Egypt where the Governement have no power over some aries in the city. MALE GANGS were every where. I hated them all. I moved to Germany in order to live in country governed by low and police.

But the Beta male condition that i found in Germany made me think again.
Men r sitting beside their naked wifes not caring who looks at them. They go easy with the fact that their wifes cheet on them.etc.

Those things don't exsist in any arabic country (even Amung non-muslims) .where those Gangs that i once hated so much, exist and rule.

Now after listening to this book i wished that my pairents have had allowed my to play in the streets with those dangerous Children back then, And that i were part of one of those gangs .

Sehr lesenswertes Buch. Es hilft „Männlichkeit“ besser zu verstehen. Der Autor beschreibt gut woher bestimmte Konzepte herkommen und warum sie uns in der heutigen Zeit Probleme bereiten. Männlichkeit ist eben kein „soziales Konstrukt“.

The book was referred to from another book I very much enjoyed but I didn’t really like this one. Too shallow.

Couldn’t really keep my attention

This book is written by a very right-wing, emotionally numb proud military boy, who stands basically only for protecting others. He is immersed in a world totally built out of fear and the persistent need for survival. He would stand guard to protect you if he liked you, and
probably eat you for dinner (not kidding) if he didn't. Emotions, compassion, mutual respect and understanding are all liabilities in his cold deadly desert of a world, so he wouldn't be the one providing
any type of healthy male role-model support or emotional attunement for the women and children who submit to him in his very little, scary, aggressive survival camp. He also dispises gay or affeminate males, so yeah...buckle in for a ride through the mind of that alpha
bully we all hate.

He fantasized about an apocolypse to destroy our overly safe social system, of which he rants about for what seems like an eternity. I agree our system is overly safe, but his speech really becomes insane and repulsive after a while.

He admires the cold calculation of terrorists... basically this is a handbook for violence. It could be called, 'How to think like a sociopathic terrorist.' You might see this guy at a kkk meeting. My guess is he would shame his son for trying lipstick, probably thinks male entertainers are all weak affeminate leeches on society...really it's way out there. He probably has a really hard time making emotionally healthy decisions on behalf of others... I feel bad even writing this review, because I know the author means well... he's just really in a super sad, scary, narrow world of his own, just like most criminals or violent aggressors.

If you are looking for a book about becoming more than an emotionally immature, angry guy who sees conflict everywhere, feels pissed off and disrespected all the time and will maybe end up in jail one day, don't read this. If you want to become a whole man who embraces both masculinity and emotional sensitivity, who is so present and tuned into the context of his life around him with both his head and his heart, which makes him a respectful, understanding, calm and (with ease), an incredible force for positive growth and change, don't read this. If you want to be a healthy whole MAN who can both protect and lead anyone with incredible care and intuition, don't read this.

I hope the author decides himself sometime soon to pull this book off the shelves...but my guess is that as a survivalist he values money more than the honour he speaks so highly of.
