I really like the story even though its Really long and some parts could be shorter.

Mir gefällt die Art der beiden Sprecher sehr, sehr gut. Man fühlt sich teilweise so tief in die Geschichte hinein versetzt, kann die Gefühle der Charaktere so gut nachempfinden, dass man beinahe glaubt, direkt dabei zu sein.

Von dem Spannungsaufbau finde ich den vierten Teil der "The Wheel of Time" Serie allerdings ein wenig zäh. Es geht recht langsam voran, allerdings enttäuscht die Geschichte im gesamten keineswegs. Man sollte jedoch wirklich genau zuhören, da viele Einzelheiten und Kleinigkeiten aus den voran gegangenen Teilen wiederkehren und doch wichtig zu sein scheinen. Ich freue mich schon darauf, den fünften Teil zu hören!

The Wheel of Time is simply put the best high Fantasy series there is. Period. Highly recommended to ditch into this, if you have any sympathy for the Fantasy genre.

Wie in den vorherigen Büchern, nimmt Robert Jordan uns wieder einmal mit auf die Reise, in die Welt von Rand al‘Thor und seinen Freunden und Feinden.
Das Buch verspricht viel Action und ist stellenweise eine ziemliche Achterbahn der Gefühle, da man mit allen Charakteren mitfühlen kann und manchmal doch den Wunsch hat, manche Charaktere anzuschreien, um ihnen zu sagen was sie tun müssen, wem sie trauen können und wem nicht.
Ich habe dieses Buch als Hörbuch gehört und parallel gelesen, wenn ich Zuhause war und könnte nicht sagen, was ich besser fand, da Kate Reading und Michael Kramer, mich immer wieder in ihren Band ziehen mit ihren Stimmen.
Ich kann das Hörbuch und das Buch nur empfehlen und freue mich schon sehr darauf es ein weiteres Mal zu lesen oder zu hören.

Jesus Christ never could I ever in my life imagine an author wasting more time on banalities that nobody in their right mind needs to know than GRRM in a song of ice and fire but boy does Robert Jordan take that method to stretch his paltry story to another level. Paragraph after paragraph is wasted to describe an incredibly dull world and butchering excellent concepts other more accomplished authors created. The Aiel or however they are called are blatantly ripped off frank Herbert’s dune and they are an utterly heinous copy of the Fremen in dune. But that‘s just what stood out to me while dozing off whenever some of the horrendously written women in this soap opera proceeded to denigrate men. And that unfortunately happened a lot… so bear with me if I missed more egregious examples. But speaking of women 95% of the women so far in this soap opera are poorly written. They fall in love with their male counterparts for seemingly no reason than the author requiring love interests and romances in his book to further dilute plot. Most of these women are inconceivably obnoxious. It seems like Robert Jordan either has no clue what women are like ( very likely considering most fantasy authors have no clue ) or he detests them? I have no idea and honestly Idc about this series anymore. So many people claimed Jordan is one of the pillars of fantasy and that couldn‘t be further from the truth. He is as much a pillar to the fantasy genre as game‘s workshop has integrity. But despite all the negative remarks considering the plot, I think the VA did a decent job to breathe some life into this meagre excuse of a story. But besides that there is nothing positive to add here. It got 2 stars because of the VA. But none of us buy these audiobooks for the VA. We ( or at least most of us ) are here for the plot and in this case, it‘s the most derivative afterthought of already existing concepts without adding anything substantial in order to set itself apart in a crowded genre. I don‘t want to be any harsher than I already was but Jordan‘s writing and plot just barely surpasses subpar fanfiction, which begs the question how this series became this popular?
