The only real issue I have is the black-and-white-definition of the characters. The good folks are completely good to a fault. The bad ones are evil. The defense lawyer is so good that in real life he would have been disbarred ages ago. The DA is so bad that he'd be in jail long ago. The good ones stick to being good even if it damages their case, the bad ones don't care as long as they get a conviction.
There is no conflict within the character, no internal dynamic. I think a really good storyteller like Cavanagh could do better.
