At first I was putting off listening to this audio book, because I thought that it wouldn't really get into it, since it is so short. It was a pleasant surprise though. I found myself caught and listening in one go. From the beginning you know the story is going to be a sad one and that there won't be a happy ending. I even thought of not listening after all because of that. But it was so worth it. I was hooked and midway through it, I even forgot about what the ending would be. I ended up crying all through the ending. And it's been really long since a book or an audio book has made me feel so many emotions, if ever. If you can deal with the emotional turmoil, it is well worth a listen, written and performed outstandingly. Just don't listen to it in a public place, because I can guarantee that it's going to be an emotional rollercoaster

"The Cottage" is a very emotional audio book, wonderfully narrated by Abby Craden. At first I wondered about it shortness of about 4 hours, but the story is extraordinarily written and complete. The love between both women is tangible and not rushed, the described emotions and thoughts are comprehensible. I clearly recommend Gerri Hill's work here!

very touching. loved the story of those two women whos friendship grew to deep love. as known by the beginning, its a sad story but wonderful nonetheless. its always only the thoughts of Jill, for those who are curious. im used to books with both characters' thoughts, so i was surprised.
beautifully written and narrated. at first i wasnt sure to buy the audiobook since its so short but its definitely worth it! great

God this was just wonderful... so much longing and love .. heartwrenching.. had me grinning and laughing and bawling my eyes out.. superb narration
