Über diesen Titel
Drunk customers. Shoplifting raccoons. Otherworldly visitors. As night-shift clerk at the 24-hour gas station at the edge of town, Jack has pretty much seen it all.
That is, until his best friend reveals the body of a local politician hidden in the trunk of a car, setting off a chain of events with apocalyptic potential. Soon, Jack finds himself entangled in a supernatural conspiracy involving monster hunters, sociopaths, doomsday cultists, and...garden gnomes?
Armed with nothing but his wits, sarcasm, and alarming amounts of coffee, can Jack stay alive long enough to see another morning shift? Or will he, too, fall victim to the dark, ancient force infecting the dreams of everyone around him?
One thing’s for sure. He’s not getting paid enough for this.

I hope there are working on volume 2.
A really good mix of horror, mystery and comedy.

You get something not too dissimilar to something like Gravity Falls or the "John Dies at the End" series of books.
So what if there's a ghost that looks like a half naked cowboy in the bathroom? He's not hurting anyone. Gravity somehow reverses? Better not go outside, you might fall into the sky. It'll sort itself out. Probably
I enjoyed the silly stories in this book. Everyone in it is an idiot, but in a charming, Futurama like way. The weird and unexplainable phenomena are creative and fun.
I can recommend it, if you're into this kind of nonsense
Fun, absurdist humour

Great Story if you love comedic/satiric take on “horror”

The problem is, that I was highly disappointed. As someone who produces Audiobooks as a hobby myself, I am surprised how I can get clearer audio with a 120 Euro mic and a microphone box made out of tissues and cardboard. The narrator sounds bored most of the time, and there is barely any emotion in his delivery. The excessive use of flanger effects and voice pitch lowering for some charakters makes it hard to understand them at times.
The voice actors sound like they are simply reading their lines, without context, while in several places there are sound effects that do not make sense. I know I come across as harsh, but when the story is written from the first person perspective, and a phone call is made, you do not put the ringing of a phone in, but the call sound you hear when it is ringing on the other end.
Same goes for the handgun used by one yof the charakters near the end. The effect used is the pumping of a pumpgun, when the gun used is a handgun.
I coukd go on and on, but the long and short of it is this: I commend the people who made this for their effort, for there was clearly some work put into it, but you can clearly see where the team and especially the editor lost their love for the project.
Nonsensical soundeffects, bored sounding VA's and narrator, but interesting choice of music and ambience sounds. Sadly that was not enough for me to overlook the flaws. If this was a free production on YouTube, like my stuff, I wouldn't even mention amy of this and move on. As is, I can not give a recommendation for this version. Voice coaching and a different recording setup might help.
A for effort
