Über diesen Titel

"Why do I have to have moral issues with killing someone? I feel like such a hypocrite! It's worse than a vegetarian touting organically grown steaks." (Eric, physics teacher, involuntary vampire, and part-time demon slayer)

Eric didn't ask to be a vampire. In fact he didn't even believe in them. Biting your own tongue with your fangs does a lot of convincing. Even so, being a part-time undead isn't as easy as you might think. It can let you hold down a day job, true, but sometimes the night "life" can be more than a little difficult, what with those bloodthirsty urges and predatory instincts kicking in. Luckily for Eric, he can rely on his trusty steed and her unwavering support, his flaming sword and its sarcastic wit, and his own snarky sense of humor.

Interesting scenario and world - many interesting characters. However, the main character is quite the beta - nice guy - in many situations that involve any kind of interaction with women. He apologizes so often, that the listener has to be aware of impending cringe attacks. Also his morals are impeding his objectives, which sometimes is understandable and other times just plain retarded. I want a character with a pint more foresight and competence. Despite these characteristics, that at least I find annoying - the protagonist and the story in general are interesting, that I finished this book in about a week of vacation. I also think that the cost benefit ratio are incredible here. You get about 40h of high quality storytelling for 10€ - fantastic. Recommended!

While the premise of the Story (good guy average Joe becomes a Vampire) isn't New, it doesn't need to be to tell an interessting tale. The setup is good, nice spins to the theme of being a Vampire. But. Oh, But! The standard female role goes to an ex-prostitte having waited for The Man for a couple of hundred years, still refers to him as master at every point and generally only serves as "having prepared everything for him", or "needs rescue". She hast No Motivation of her own, except His happiness, going so far as him having fantasies about "beating that bitch and she didn't move because shenk ew she deserved it". That was where I stopped listening. The Man has no relatable characters development, his (expected) struggle with a new (un)life is best described as "oh No. ..anyway". The sceneplay is sloppy (your absolut best friend is being abducted and tortured by The Enemy? Best gush on and on about your feelings before asking him how he is doing). This doesn't make a characters relatable, it's lazy. And tossing this Former best friend by the wayside once He served as introduction for The Enemy is, well, Bad. You can donthat, but I expect the characters to have a Motive, a reason for this behaviour. However, none is given.
Don't vorher with this one, except If you want to have Lessons in scenwriting and charactermotivation or lack thereof.

Decently interessting setup- horrible characterbuilding
