Red winter is a beautiful story that feels very original, especially for people who don't know much about Asian mythology as I. Accompanied by a cute slowburn romance.
The narrator does this story justice and her voice is very pleasing to listen to.

Ich brauchte etwas länger als sonst um richtig in die Geschichte reinzukommen, aber nach ein paar Kapiteln entwickelt sich die Story und es wird richtig spannend. Immer wieder kommt es zu unerwarteten Wendungen und man fragt sich was wohl als nächstes passiert. Kann es kaum erwarten rauszufinden wie es im nächsten Teil weitergeht.

It felt like I was listening to an anime. I could understand the lore thanks to knowing other Japanese stories, but someone without that context would be a little lost in some of the terms (lots of them were just thrown without much context).
That being said, the story was interesting enough and the narrator did an awesome job reading this book!
I'll listen to the next one.

The beginning was a bit slow and it took me a while to get into the story, but I enjoyed the book, the setting is interesting and I like the characters so far. This is promising and I’m looking forward to the next book.

A good first book in a series

The story is ok. But the speakers high and fast speaking voice when talking for the main character gives me an headache. I will not listen to the second part. And do not recommend it.

It can be hard to follow the story at times, but the overall idea is very intriguing. However, I can't say for sure if the FMC is really cringy and irritating or if it's just the shrill interpretation of the voice that makes her sound so whiny. Otherwise, I do really enjoy the narrator's voice!
The love interest is also great.
