I enjoyed the story and I liked the characters, the setting is interesting as well. Not a bad book for an introduction to a series and I will pick up the next one as well.

Mera is a detective with a secret, only her captain knows that's she's the only siren walking in the city. And this siren story and Meras background are well done. I might say that's the part of the book I enjoyed most.

Now hiding as a human, Mera is called to investigate a murder. But because the victim is a Fey she must cooperate with the Fey detective Sebastian Dhay.
So far so good. I liked the outline of the plot but the investigations where far to simple for my opinion. And Bast crossed many lines I don't like me hero cross. I was relieved that Mera does not fall for pretty guys to easily and still sees reason. That's why I might test the waters in the next book before I decide if it is for me or not.
