"Narrator Ramón de Ocampo brings out all the emotion in this tender, serious, funny, and warmly hopeful love story.... Listeners will be swept up as Alex and Henry face questions of identity and coming out amid familial duties and political machinations." (AudioFile Magazine)

What happens when America's First Son falls in love with the Prince of Wales?

When his mother became president, Alex Claremont-Diaz was promptly cast as the American equivalent of a young royal. Handsome, charismatic, genius - his image is pure millennial-marketing gold for the White House. There's only one problem: Alex has a beef with the actual prince, Henry, across the pond. And when the tabloids get hold of a photo involving an Alex-Henry altercation, US/British relations take a turn for the worse.

Heads of family, state, and other handlers devise a plan for damage control: staging a truce between the two rivals. What at first begins as a fake, Instragramable friendship grows deeper, and more dangerous, than either Alex or Henry could have imagined. Soon, Alex finds himself hurtling into a secret romance with a surprisingly unstuffy Henry that could derail the campaign and upend two nations and begs the question: Can love save the world after all? Where do we find the courage, and the power, to be the people we are meant to be? And how can we learn to let our true colors shine through? Casey McQuiston's Red, White & Royal Blue proves: True love isn't always diplomatic.

Praise for Red, White & Royal Blue:

"Effervescent and empowering on all levels, Red, White & Royal Blue is both a well-written love story and a celebration of identity." (NPR)

"I took this with me wherever I went and stole every second I had to read! Absorbing, hilarious, tender, sexy - this book had everything I crave. I’m jealous of all the readers out there who still get to experience Red, White & Royal Blue for the first time!" (Christina Lauren, New York Times best-selling author of Love and Other Words and Roomies)

"Red, White & Royal Blue is outrageously fun. It is romantic, sexy, witty, and thrilling. I loved every second." (Taylor Jenkins Reid, author of The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo and Maybe in Another Life)

Alex & Henry are so relatable - I love this book.

Alex thought he knew what kind of person prince Henry is - but he was so wrong! He not only got to know him, but himself in the process.
They great thing about this book is that these two are not the only interesting characters - I can't wait learn more about the rest of the gang.
I like this fictional president a lot, she gets things done and has a great group of supporters.

On a real life note: I wish the people of the USA had voted a different person into office in 2016, let's hope they do better in 2020.

A royal treat for ears and heart

I normally don't write reviews, but for this, I will change that. "Red, White & Royal Blue" was a true treat and I loved every moment of it. The characters and their development, their honesty and rawness made them come to life and I truly enjoyed the way the story went from beginning to end. Rarely have I finished an audio book faster and looked for moments, like breaks at the office, walks to the post office, etc., to continue listening. Casey McQuiston has written a beautiful book whose heroes and heroines are deeply needed in times like these. A book that gives hope that the world can change and that one day, everyone will believe what most of us already do: love is love is love is love. Thank you to Lin-Manuel Miranda, btw.

    Really mediocre

Everything about this audiobook is pretty mediocre.
The story is not even a real story, the protagonists don't face any problems that move them deeply or make them do astounding things.
All the characters stay really flat, there is no depth, even after listening to the whole book, I don't have evolved any feelings for the characters.

And that was so different in Sabrina Bowen's gay stories, or Bill Konigsbergs'.
If you liked theirs, this one will be a lot less moving, a lot less sexual and just all in all not as gripping.

That being said, it's not bad at all, just also not very good, and that's already starting with the theme: basically nothing in this book is relatable for the listener.

And yes, and I very rarely have a problem with the narrators. But in this story, even the narrator is mediocre.

It's not a bad book, and I can see many enjoyed it, but you'll find way better out there.

    Loved it!!

I came for the enemies to lovers and stayed for the politics. This story is incredibly intriguing in every aspect, from the more hopeful world McQuiston builds to the romance between the idealist prince of England and the son of the president of the United States.

    Amazing

and very much the 2020 I would have preferred instead of whatever this is.

I greatly enjoyed the funny and diverse and lovable characters and I did not mind one bit the happy ending. Very joyous.

    What a ride...

I just pulled an all nighter because I simply couldn't stop listening. Cried for the first time in 7 years as well. Eventhough the struggles of international politics seem way up there with things I'm happy I don't have to think about, I found myself in these characters, sharing their fears, hopes, dreams and traumas. It's intriguing at worst, addictive at best. Possibly my new favorite novel. Thanks
