Die Geschichte des Authoritarismus in seinen verschiedenen Ausprägungen sowie deren wichtigsten Lehren, werden aus einer sehr US typischen Sicht dargelegt, in der historische Fakten zweckmäßig verkürzt dargestellt werden. Die Neuzeit und die in ihr liegenden Herausforderungen für dem Umgang mit sich abzeichnenden autoritären Strukturen erfordern als erstes einen ehrlichen Umgang mit historischen Fakten und dieses vom Autor selbst geforderte Prinzip wird von ihm selbst nicht eingelöst. Es ist und bleibt eine doch sehr amerikanische Sichtweise auf die Geschichte und ihre Konsequenzen aber dennoch auch ein Blick in die Denkweisen derer die in US sich als Verteidiger der universellen Demokratie verstehen.

Eine interesante, wenn auch in Teilen nicht gaz vollständige Réflexion.
