The narrator, Susan Bennett, is absolutely sensational, shining in what is probably the best female rage book written by a cis man currently out there. Kudos, Nat Cassidy!

Supremely narrated horror gem with depth

To be honest I was drawn to this book because of the cover art which really paid off because the story is amazing. It was creepy, funny, sad, intense and I couldn´t stop listening to it. I was really enjoying myself. The narrator gives the different characters their own voice and you forget that you are listening to the same narrator. Check the TW before reading/listening.

I was entirely captivated by ‘MARY’! I love to read things like ‘A certain hunger’ and such and saw this book in a ‘if you liked this movie’ read these books post about the movie ‘Pearl’, which I love. Needless to say, as an actress, I FELT every moment Mary did. No wonder Nat Cassidy writes plays as well. Masterfully written and beautifully performed in my opinion. I’d love to play her in a movie one day when I am old enough, ironically.

Ein großartiges Buch! Hervorragend geschrieben, vor allem wie Mary sich wandelt und mit sich kämpft. Ich konnte nicht aufhören zu hören.

Nothing is as it seems and there are plot twists within plot twist that I didn't see coming.
Moreover, Susan Bennett's voice perfectly captures Mary's character and inner thoughts.
