You can’t fly without falling, so close your eyes and let go.

People ask me if I’m human. If I have feelings. If I’ve ever loved anyone. I’m the lawyer who has never lost a case because I have nothing else to live for.

Until Jonah.

He’s my complete opposite: a reckless boy 12 years younger than me, made of sunshine and wicked smiles, pure and breathtaking.

It all starts with a secret. He wants to find out if he’s bi, and he begs me to teach him because we’ll never see each other again.

Until he shows up on my doorstep with nowhere else to go. I can’t draw lines faster than we blur them. He’s the unstoppable force; I’m the immovable object. When we collide, things get filthy. Complicated.

More beautiful than I ever could have imagined.

He’s the only person ever to learn the truth: I’ve always been human. I’ve always had feelings. I’ve been so, so afraid to lose.

Because the moment we find enough trust to jump is the moment we realize our wings might be too broken to fly.

A heartfelt, emotional story of two lonely souls searching for meaning, featuring a bi awakening, grumpy/sunshine opposites attract, an age gap, and a main character with a disability.

The books in this series take place in the same universe and have recurring characters, but each book is a stand-alone that can be listened to separately or in any order!

I already loved reading the book but the audio made it even better. Great performance. Riley chose his narrators well!

Absolutely loved this

After finishing the deeply emotional story of Viktor and Ethan, I immediately dove into Gray’s story, who was first introduced in book one—and I was so ready for him. I was also very happy to see Viktor and Ethan make appearances throughout this book, which added a lovely sense of continuity to the series.

Gray’s character was absolutely captivating. The broody, stoic, impeccably serious, sexy lawyer with a genuinely good heart? Yes, please. I was incredibly curious to discover what lay beneath his carefully controlled exterior.

Much like book one, the two MMCs couldn’t be more different—hello opposites attract. Jonah is a goofy, joyful, friendly college guy with absolutely no filter and just loving life. He comes from a very simple family and background, which strongly contrasts with Gray’s more established, controlled life. Jonah is also navigating a bi-awakening, while trying to find his place in the world and seeking acceptance as someone living with a disability.

Their meet-cute was refreshing and different, and the forced proximity element worked beautifully to bring them closer. The development of their feelings and romance was slow, organic, and completely believable—never rushed, always earned.

Jonah is such a genuinely lovely character, one you root for from the very beginning. Despite all the challenges he faces, he remains positive, warm, and determined to prove—to himself and everyone else—that his disability does not define or limit what he can do or who he can be.

Gray carries his own deeply rooted struggles from the past, but together, he and Jonah fit like two puzzle pieces that simply click. Their relationship balanced tenderness, growth, and emotional healing so well. The age-gap dynamic added another layer to their connection without ever feeling uncomfortable or unbalanced.

While this book wasn’t as heavy, intense, or heartbreaking as the first installment, it was still very emotional and deeply touching in its own way. The spice definitely had a little extra chili compared to book one—slightly more frequent and starting earlier—which I thoroughly enjoyed.

🎧 Narration:
Once again, the narration was smashingly good. Michael Gallagher and Theo Sinclair were a perfect fit for their characters, and the emotional delivery elevated the story even further. You could truly feel everything while listening.
