Summary:
Cannon and Easton are stepbrothers. Easton’s mom and Cannon’s dad are married but Cannon just can’t do anything right with his dad whereas Easton is the nice one. Cannon is a little older. Easton is out as gay and has a massive crush on his stepbrother. They're out for a party the summer before Cannan leaves for college but it gets shut down by the police and their parents have to pick them up. Cannon’s dad is beyond mad for getting Easton into trouble. That same night, he hands Cannon a check, gives him the keys for the car and tells him to leave. Cannon begs him to stay but his dad doesn’t budge. Cannon leaves without saying goodbye and the promise not to stay in touch with his family.
Seven years later there is still no contact at all and Cannon is engaged to woman when there’s a call from the hospital: His parents are braindead after an accident. He has to figure out their affairs. He goes home and sees Easton again who’s beyond mad. Easton never understood why Cannon just left and never came back without saying goodbye and Cannon isn’t telling him. They start out as enemies but their grief connects them. Easton has nothing else left. Hate turns to lust and more – all the emotions from seven years back rushing back. But one day Cannon’s fiancée is there and their wedding gets closer. Cannon has to decide what to do.
It's a very emotional stroy with ups and downs and characters that you'll think about days later.

I really enjoyed listening to that story! Those two were just made for each other.
There is a lot happening at the beginning, some of ot really traumatic. But all the emotions are there in the story and it's never boring.
I can really recommend that book to every MM lover (Stepbrothers) fans!

Sowohl Cannon als auch Easton gehen unter die Haut, ihre Emotionen so echt als würde man es selbst erleben, so sehr geht es unter die Haut.

I really loved how the author transferred the emotions in this book - how deep it hurt to lose family, to be torn between desire and rationality. The words they choose ran deep inside me and made me feel with them.
But the lack of communication really drove me nuts. It startet when there were about 3,5 hrs left in the audio - the scene where Can was visited by Anna and about to leave -, that it started to grind my nerves that they just couldn't talk properly. It felt like torture to listen on and when the wedding was taking place, I just wanted to scream at them to TALK. It felt suffocating to me to listen them going on and on and always repeating the same things the listener knows aren't true.
All in all I loved the most part of it, the metaphors, the wordings, the feelings it set free, but once Anna joined them in East's home I just couldn't fully enjoy it anymore until it finally started to untangle and they spoke to each other.
