That’s the thing about hearts - like waves, they break too.

Listening to the work of these two narrators was a delight. Such an emotional reading. I really loved it. The book is also very good.

Ich hab das Buch bereits verschlungen und Tränen vergossen, aber Hören ist etwas ganz anderes als Lesen.
Sowohl Cannon als auch Easton gehen unter die Haut, ihre Emotionen so echt als würde man es selbst erleben, so sehr geht es unter die Haut.

This story is all-consuming. I had a hard time to take breaks. It‘s hard to describe, but every second is worth listening. The spice is good but not too heavy and it fits perfectly into the plot.

Trigger: Loss of parents; abandonement

Summary:
Cannon and Easton are stepbrothers. Easton’s mom and Cannon’s dad are married but Cannon just can’t do anything right with his dad whereas Easton is the nice one. Cannon is a little older. Easton is out as gay and has a massive crush on his stepbrother. They're out for a party the summer before Cannan leaves for college but it gets shut down by the police and their parents have to pick them up. Cannon’s dad is beyond mad for getting Easton into trouble. That same night, he hands Cannon a check, gives him the keys for the car and tells him to leave. Cannon begs him to stay but his dad doesn’t budge. Cannon leaves without saying goodbye and the promise not to stay in touch with his family.
Seven years later there is still no contact at all and Cannon is engaged to woman when there’s a call from the hospital: His parents are braindead after an accident. He has to figure out their affairs. He goes home and sees Easton again who’s beyond mad. Easton never understood why Cannon just left and never came back without saying goodbye and Cannon isn’t telling him. They start out as enemies but their grief connects them. Easton has nothing else left. Hate turns to lust and more – all the emotions from seven years back rushing back. But one day Cannon’s fiancée is there and their wedding gets closer. Cannon has to decide what to do.

It's a very emotional stroy with ups and downs and characters that you'll think about days later.

Its a really sad story with parents lost, so please be aware of that before listening.

I really enjoyed listening to that story! Those two were just made for each other.
There is a lot happening at the beginning, some of ot really traumatic. But all the emotions are there in the story and it's never boring.
I can really recommend that book to every MM lover (Stepbrothers) fans!

Auch wenn ich die Hauptfiguren mochte und verstehe, dass ihre Situation als Kinder nicht leicht war und man in diesem Alter schnell eine unerklärliche Abneigung gegen jemanden entwickeln kann, weiß ich nicht, warum sich das Verhältnis nicht verbessert hat...außer natürlich, dass es dann diese Storyline nicht gegeben hätte. Zudem verstehe ich auch das Verhalten des Vaters nicht, der seinem leiblichen Sohn nicht zu helfen scheint. Alles ein wenig unglaubwürdig...trotzdem aber grundsätzlich schön erzählt und kurzweilig. Die Sprecher machen die Geschichte hörenswert.

sounded interesting and I am certainly not against some steamy scenes but this book surely did not connect. Story and characters just not believable and everything just so repetitive and every thought so obviously spelled out again and again....only listened by skipping large chunks the last 3 hours of the recording. Just wanted to see how it ends and it to end.
