Atticus King had his life mapped out—train hard, play volleyball, keep to himself. That is, until Noah Rossi burst onto the scene: charismatic, impulsive, a storm that tore through Atticus's carefully built walls and set his world on fire. They didn't fit—Noah was everything Atticus wasn't—but somehow, they found a rhythm in their shared love for the game and an undeniable pull toward each other. It was everything Atticus never knew he wanted.

But just as quickly as Noah entered his life, he disappeared. No explanation. No goodbye. Only silence that left Atticus drowning in confusion and pain.

Two years later, Noah walks back into Atticus's world as if nothing ever happened, stirring up old feelings Atticus has tried to bury. The bond they shared is undeniable, but so is the hurt that lingers beneath the surface. Why did Noah leave? And can they rebuild something from the shattered pieces of their past?

Love isn't easy. But for Atticus and Noah, it might be the only thing worth fighting for.

seriously I was bawling my eyes out throughout the last 2 hrs of the book. THE WHOLE TIME. (Don't even know when the last time was I cried for such a long time.) But not in a bad way, but in a so deeply touched, can feel everything they went through, emotional kind of way.

The whole story, the writing style, the MCs, ALL of it is just so so so freaking beautiful. The ups and downs they went through and how this story was built is just .. I don't even know what to call it. Beautiful? Heartbreaking? Great? Touching? all of it. The story got me pretty good and I'm so happy I stumbled across this Gemstone.

The narrator does a good job and I don't know if his voices' cracking sometimes was intentional but it was SO fitting. I already bought book 2 (it's not necessary because this book has a closed end I'm just curious about how the story went on from that point onwards) and cannot wait to dig into it.

thank you Alex, for this story touched me like no other before.

this is so freaking good

Damn, this was a rollercoaster of emotions, just like the relationship of Atty and Noah! It's been a while since I've been so captivated by a book. Amazing, heartbreaking story!

sobbing, holding my breath, cheering

Very well outlined characters. Single POV view which further isolated the feelings he had but I also craved to hear more from the other person.

Goes to the heart

Definitely not my cup of tea. The relationship was way too toxic for me. It was incredibly realistic, though, which is why I still gave the story a 3/5. The emotional weight was intense, but unfortunately, I didn’t enjoy it much. What bothered me most was that I never felt like they actually worked through what happened between them. There was so much trauma, pain, and unresolved issues, but instead of really dealing with them together, it felt like endless push and pull until things suddenly fell into place.

I also didn’t feel much chemistry between them. There was barely any banter or friction, and to me, it felt more like codependency and obsession than love. The spark was simply missing for me. Overall, a realistic and emotionally heavy story, but not one I enjoyed much. The end simply did not outweigh the drama imo.

It needs trigger warnings as well. Drug addiction, Depression, codependency.

Too depressing for me

So many said this is a great book. But for me it's a 2 star listening. It wasn't my story at all, to many no no's... sorry

This wasn't mine
