Toller Start

Am Anfang war ich schon sehr irritiert, weil es immer wieder kleine Einblicke in ihrer Geschichte gab. Ich musste dann nochmal nachschauen, ob es wirklich Band 1 der Serie ist. Es stellte sich heraus, dass diese Geschichte so zusagen ein Spin-off ist. Daher ist es schon etwas schwierig, wenn in kurzen Sätzen erklärt wird was vor 3 Jahren passiert ist. Die Geschichte von Kat hat mir gut gefallen. Ich liebe Fantasy und wünsche mir immer eine starke Heroin. Kat ist das und viel mehr. Ich liebe es, wie die Sprecherin die männlichen Charaktere spricht. Ich bin sehr gespannt auf Band 2 der Reihe.

Starts in the middle

All in all the book is good, something a bit different to the usual witches and wizards books. That being said during 2/3 of the book you have the feeling you started with the wrong book and this isn’t Book 1.
But I made sure, it is book one. It is a bit irritating that the books always references the past or something else you feel you should now from a previous book. And it takes a while before starting to explain words an backstory but it gets there in the end.

I will read book two just to see if it takes of any faster. It is easy to listen to and something to empty your head with after a full day.

One part that destroys it all

I hate stories where the antagonists get away in the last second multiple times especially when it would be so very easy to restrain them but nobody remembers that the antagonist already escaped at least once and make the same dumb mistakes again.
