Lovable characters, charming plot, a bit foreseeable at times but never boring. The narrator is a pure marvel, she really brings those people to life. For lovers of Austen, the Lady Hardcastle series or the tearoom mysteries. have a cup of tea and enjoy!

a clever, highly amusing whodunnit. Set in an interesting time - 1932 England in the aftermath of the social and political upheavals after WWI, deeply affected by the economic crash and still the England of separated classes and strict rules of court and noble society. stunnigly performed by K. Kelgren.

Insgesamt empfehlenswert. Einige inhaltliche Längen waren etwas ermüdend. Intonation durch Protagonistin -Sprecherin teils zu hoch.

Simply marvelous!
Was für ein Vergnügen!
Zugegeben, für Fremdsprachler sind manche der Dialekte eine echte Herausforderung und brauchen wiederholtes Hören, um verstanden zu werden, aber die Sprecherin ist ein besonders begabtes Exemplar ihrer Gattung und verhilft den wunderbar gezeichneten Figuren erst richtig zur Geltung.
Die Geschichte selber ist witzig, spannend, aufschlussreich und überraschend. Einziger Wermutstropfen ist, daß der Anschluss an die Vorgeschichte (2 Jahre früher spielend, aber offenbar erst später geschrieben als der Rest) nicht ganz passt.
Für Hörer ohne Prequel ein völlig ungetrübtes Vergnügen, für mich an ein paar Stellen bedauerlich, aber verständlich (eine Vorgeschichte wird schließlich meistens später geschrieben 😉)
Ein MUSS, wenn man des Englischen ausreichend mächtig ist
