Über diesen Titel
Handpicked by Rhys Bowen, Jasmine Blackborow is the dazzling narrator for the 12th installment of Rhys Bowen's best-selling Royal Spyness Mystery series.
Georgie, or Lady Georgiana Rannoch, is busy planning her upcoming nuptials to Darcy O'Mara. Unfortunately, what has started as a simple wedding has become quite a royal headache and grand affair, thanks to a guest list that includes the queen and the appointment of princesses as Georgie's bridesmaids. “If only Darcy and I had eloped!” she thinks, as she attempts to organize her wedding and find a place for her and her husband-to-be to live.
Just as she despairs of ever finding a home, her godfather offers his fully staffed country estate. With Darcy off in parts unknown, Georgie makes her way to Eynsleigh alone, only to find the grounds in disarray, and the small staff suspiciously incompetent. Not to mention the gas tap leak in her bedroom, which is beginning to look like an attempt on her life. Something sinister is afoot - and bringing the place up to snuff may put Georgie six feet under before she even gets a chance to walk down the aisle....
©2018 Janet Quin-Harkin (P)2018 Audible, Inc.The new narrator had an unbelievably difficult task to perform and managed it brilliantly. I got used to the new voices very quickly, as Jasmine Blackborow really manages to stay true to the original ones. I don't think Darcy sounds too feminine, either. If anything, Bellinda is a little too whiny for my liking, but maybe that even matches her character.
I don't mind the correct pronunciation of "Rannoch", at all, and I haven't detected any other words that are differently pronounced.
Rest in peace, Katherine Kellgren. We will always love and remember you. But that shouldn't keep us from opening our hearts to the new narrator!
Absolutely delightful!

Of course there are now differences with the new narrator JB, but she really tries to keep the voices recognisable. I think I will get used to her. Only her changed "Ranoch" let me flinch every time (even if it might be correct this way it is still strange to hear)
Give the new Narrator a chance

A difficult legacy

Great story, not a fan of the new narrator

However, the way she pronounces some words make me twitch every single time: drawing room - drawring room and lots of other little mistakes, like various different ways she says „Ranoch House“.
Maybe the narration gets better with a less suppressed voice for some of the figures.
Great story - hope the narrator improves
