It hurts to love a straight guy.
Cam’s all smiles and dimples. He doesn’t have a clue what he does to me. I’ve loved the guy for years, but to him I’m just a friend.
Every time I try to move on, all I can think about is Cam.
But is there a possibility of anything more?
I’m straight. How can I love a guy?
Richie is my best friend. He’s the best guy in the world. So, why do I feel so weird when I see him out with a guy?
It doesn’t take long for me to realize it’s jealousy. Damn it. Maybe, I’m not as straight as I thought.
One kiss with Richie, and all thoughts of straight fly out the window. I want to see where our feelings take us. But will life with Richie be enough when I’ve always craved a family and a white picket fence?

Vanguard Towers 04 – Richie & Cam
At the Fire Station Richie and Cam have been work partners for years and a perfect team. Secertly Richie has been haboring much deeper feelings but never dares to act on them because Cam is straighter as a bow, dreaming of his white picket fence, wife and children to come along. But nowerdays Richie has more and more difficulties to keep his yearning under control. Cam on the other hand is truely worried by those moody-broody spells of his best friend, and he is confused by his own feelings. When they almost get their all over the place emotions sorted out, Richie's former girlfriend Patrice throws them into another whirlwind of new feelings.
Wow, the 4th episode „Fire and Ice“ has a loooooooooooooot in store for Richie and his buddy Cam. I like the best friends to lovers theme and must say, Aiden Bates let us have deep insights into both men's emotional worlds creating a gripping bond between MC's and readers/listeners. How all the brothers stepped up when Sammy came into their lives and supported them was absolutely heart melting. Just the adjective „adoreable“ got a bit too over-used for my taste.
Guillaume Dubois did a stunning job narrating this roller coaster feeling story and giving Richie&Cam their perfect voices. I felt so sorry for Richie, who clearly had been worn out and down over the years by his strong, hidden feelings. Cam's confusion also was very realisticly voiced. Amazing how Mr Dubois colors even the smallest side characters, like the fire station chief, impossibly egoistic Patrice or colleague Shane, too. It is so much fun to join those two strong men and all the other reoccurring characters in this continuing storyline!
