Catie is on her way back to Earth after having settled the Fazulan slaves when the wormhole her ship is traveling in collapses. They are diverted to another system, where big chunks are flying around. They rescue a ship and find themselves in the middle of a series of mysteries. Catie resigns herself to continuing her role as Princess Catie and helping these people solve their problems so that this new system can join the Delphi League. And Catie gets exactly what she asked for.

I know this isn't hard sci-fi, I know this isn't where I should go for military tactics, but coooome on Bob

they meet a new species with a mostly broken com system, they don't share a language, but somehow establishing a video connection is the easiest thing ever for them? they don't even know if they use 8 bit, never mind our video codecs. the aliens having windows in their ship they could look through at a screen would be more believeable

Also, put a rail gun on the merlin and just bombard surface vessels with that. or use the fox rail guns from orbit. no need to risk the pilots (though they are safe as long as they are named anyways)
