This is the great second part of a fantastic series. I can't wait for the third one! And, the audiobook production is really good, it's read in a way that makes you feel like you're a part of the story. Highly recommended!

Children of trauma,vengeance and lack of virtue is what I would call the 2nd book of the children of blood and bone series. I find that it had too much of a focus on the traumatic events the characters were going through and sheer senselessness in their Actions. The storyline didn't roll as smoothly as in the first book but nonetheless I liked how certain characters redeemed themselves! Bahni Turpin almost does too much of a good job and heightens some of the dreadful situations the characters go through, sometimes irritating me and leaving me at the edge of my seat with heart palpitations lol.

But even though I had less fun listening to this book I still think that we need books like this about black people, living, going on adventures, hurting, loving, fighting and just being human and black narrators who tell these stories.

With that said it's still a good read and worth praising!

I am such a huge fan of the two books that are already out, the story for me got 4 stars because I needed a little more victory to be honest. But I am still fully in love with the characters and books and I am excited for number 3!

loved the first book, this one was so frustrating. all the characters hate each other which made no sense because they came so far in the first book. everyone is so selfish and constantly makes the objectively wrong decision. amari is so unlikable now.inan is so naive and annoying. the best character tzain gets no shine_ nailah disappears. loved the narrator's reading but could've lived without the drawn out plot. will probably still read the third to see if the series redeems itself.

For me as a non-native speaker it was a bit hard to understand at the beginning... but so was book 1. I really liked the story and its twists ;).
