Über diesen Titel

Stealing from a mage was both the best and worst thing I had ever done.

After being caught, I was named a criminal and sent to a prison known as the Jade Bastion. Located at the Edge of the World, this prison carries a secret. Those inmates who have magical abilities are trained in the most powerful magic known to the empire: battle magic.

To survive, I will need to discover a secret I didn't know I possessed. I can become more powerful through bonding with the other beautiful, magically inclined inmates.

This will be my greatest trial yet, but if I can grow stronger, I might just survive it and become a Battle Mage.

Ganz gut

MC is destined for greatness from the start, according to all the support characters repeatedly telling him. but they aren't allowed to give any indication as to why. nevertheless the MC can do no wrong, and has an instinctive understanding of magic at the most opportune moment. glaring logic gaps are never addressed but just accepted as given.
for one : battle mages are supposed to be the absolute elite fighting force there is, so who in their right mind would source their recruites exclusively from the criminal element of their society?!
Also apparently it is forbidden to tell new recruits what happens during the absorption of their first glyphs. why?! no reason given nor asked. Also apparently there are no adverse effects in doing so, further it even seems to be helpful. they only ever tell them how likely it is to die while undergoing this procedure.
the rules of this prison are never explained or even stated to the new inmates. only if rules are broken they are scolded and an death penalty is changed to going to bed without dinner. no exaggeration this really happens. it is quite frankly laughable.
this all reads as a bunch of halve baked ideas smashed together without bothering to smooth the underlying logic of the world into any form of a cohesive whole.
I think Dante King is simply not an author for me.
if you want sex scenes and harems with the most flimsy of justifications, maybe this book is something for you.
outstanding performance of Mrs Ryder. and Mr Alexander also delivers a solid job.

boring and with logic gaps
