Auch wenn Englisch nicht meine Muttersprache ist, fiel es mir leicht, mich in Atalantas Geschichte zu verlieren und in ihre Welt abzutauchen.
Diese starke Heldin mit ihrem ganz eigenen freiheitsliebenden Wesen war mir vorher gänzlich unbekannt und so blieb ihre Geschichte für mich bis zum ( für mich überraschenden ) Ende sehr spannend und inspirierend.
Zuvor hörte ich bereits Circe und The Song of Achilles von Madeleine Miller, welche ich ebenfalls wärmstens empfehlen kann, sodass sich nun langsam eine Art Puzzle zusammensetzt denn Figuren aus den anderen Hörbüchern tauchten zum Teil als Nebenfiguren auf und das Wissen über die griechische Mythologie wird immer größer.

Die Sprecherin war auch wieder sehr angenehm.

The story and the narration makes you feel like you are living inside the story. All of Jennifer Saints' books were a delight but this Audible version was exceptional. Very enjoyable and highly recommended!

Wonderful retelling of the Greek Myth of Atlanta

This was a gripping read and a very good retelling of the myth. It is refreshing and empowering to see Atalanta portrayed as a full human being and not just fiercely independent. Focussing on representing her as AroAce would have been an option, but not doing that and making her explicitly reject the concept of marriage and the societal expectations without a label make this even more powerful. This book also provides another experience or different desires than the other titles protagonist and I think that is very well rounded! Also, I read “Medea” shortly before and it was a nice experience to see the Argonauts from a second female perspective!
Beth Eyre is a fantastic voice actress and I loved listening to her!
