Starting out from Deimos Station near Mars, Hudson and Liberty take the Orion to a new portal world. But Logan Griff, and mercenaries Cutler Wendell and Tory Bellona, are still chasing them. This time, Griff wants more than just their heads. He wants the secret to finding new portals, too. Captured and imprisoned, Liberty must use all her skills and wits to escape a life of service to the Council, the galaxy’s deadliest criminal gang. But she discovers an ally in the most unlikely place.

Still desperate to find Liberty Devan, Hudson Powell travels to a new portal world: Chrome One. Illegally claimed by the Relic Guardian Force, Hudson senses Logan Griff’s involvement. If he can find his scumbag former training officer then maybe he can find Liberty and the crystal too. Meanwhile, Morphus travels to a powerful alien relic called the Telescope in order to learn the location of Goliath. But without the alien crystal, stolen by Logan Griff, there is no hope of defeating the great ship.

With Goliath continuing its rampage through the network of portal worlds, Hudson Powell and Tory Bellona go on with their search for Logan Griff and the crystal. But first they must embark on a final dangerous relic hunt inside a crashed alien wreck. After a cunning betrayal, Logan Griff finds himself running for his life, while murderous mercenary, Cutler Wendell, forges a new partnership. Meanwhile, Morphus and Liberty are en route back to Earth with a weapon to help defeat Goliath. But without the crystal the odds of victory are slim.
