  • Rewriting the Return-to- Work Story
    Dec 1 2025

Today I’m joined by Alexa Starks, award-winning workplace culture innovator, coach for working moms, and founder of Executive Moms. Alexa helps companies redesign the return-to-work experience after maternity leave and supports working moms as they rebuild confidence, momentum, and clarity in their first year back.

In this episode, Alexa shares something more personal: her two birth stories how wildly different they were, what she learned from each experience, and how those moments shaped both her motherhood and her mission to advocate for working parents. We talk about identity shifts, support systems, returning to work after birth, and the emotional layers that often get overlooked in postpartum care.

This conversation blends real-life honesty with the insight of someone who understands both motherhood and leadership from the inside out. Whether you’re preparing for birth, navigating postpartum, or heading back to work after maternity leave, Alexa’s stories will remind you that you’re not alone and that every birth shapes us in powerful ways.
