• How Service And Mercy Strengthen A Christian Marriage
    Sep 21 2026

If you’ve ever thought, “My spouse will serve the whole world but not me,” you’re not alone and you might be looking at a spiritual gift that’s real, powerful, and mis-aimed. David and Tracy Sellers unpack how the Holy Spirit gives spiritual gifts for a purpose, not for status, and why the best place to see those gifts clearly is often the day-to-day life of a Christian marriage.

We start with the big framework: salvation, the Great Commission, and the church as a team where the Spirit equips every believer. Then we get practical by focusing on supporting gifts that show up at home. We talk about the gift of service and how the same chore can either build closeness or breed resentment depending on attitude. We also ask two questions that cut through confusion: how can a gift show up negatively in marriage, and how can a spouse actively support growth in that gift?

From there we move through mercy, encouragement (exhortation), teaching, and giving. Mercy can make a home feel safe, but it can also drain a spouse emotionally without good boundaries. Encouragers can strengthen faith, yet their correction can feel harsh without self-awareness and accountability. Teachers protect biblical truth, but they carry responsibility that requires real time in God’s Word. And givers can bless others deeply, especially when stewardship and budgeting become a shared mission instead of a fight.

  • Your Marriage Grows When You Use What The Spirit Gave You
    Sep 14 2026

If you have ever wondered, “I’m a Christian, so now what,” the answer is bigger than learning more facts, it’s learning how God has uniquely equipped you to serve. We dig into spiritual gifts and why they matter in Christian marriage, not as a church buzzword, but as a practical, daily reality that should show up as visible fruit at home. We also ask a challenging question: could your spouse tell your salvation story and describe how God has shaped you since you were born again?

We compare natural talents with spiritual gifts and explain why the difference matters. Talents can be inherited, trained, and used by anyone, for good or for selfish ends. Spiritual gifts come directly from the Holy Spirit, are given for a God-glorifying purpose, and mature as we walk closely with Christ. Along the way, we talk about the caution signs of putting gifts on a shelf or putting them on display for our own glory.

We also untangle confusion around church titles and status. Using Scripture from places like Acts 6 and 1 Timothy 3, we frame roles like deacon and elder as Spirit-empowered service recognized in a faithful life, not a badge you chase. Finally, we connect “healthy struggles,” pruning, wise counsel, and leaving and cleaving to the real formation of character and leadership inside marriage. Subscribe for part three, share this with a couple who needs clarity, and leave a review so more marriages can find these biblical tools.

  • Spiritual Gifts And Marriage
    Sep 7 2026

Spiritual gifts can bring out the best in a marriage or the worst, depending on whether we treat them like a tool for serving or a trophy for proving ourselves. We start with a simple tension we see in real couples all the time: when we push into an area where our spouse is strong, we stop completing each other and start competing. That competition breeds conflict, resentment, and spiritual drift, even when both people genuinely want a biblically healthy marriage.

We also name the baggage many of us carry from church culture. Some of us grew up with spiritual gifts barely mentioned, while others have watched them get abused for attention, control, or money. We unpack why that history makes couples want to avoid the topic altogether, and why ignoring spiritual gifts quietly drains spiritual life from the home. God gives gifts for a stated purpose: to build up the church and extend the kingdom, starting with the “two or more gathered” reality of husband and wife.

Then we get painfully practical about prerequisites. If salvation is real, your marriage should be able to talk about it clearly. Could your spouse tell your testimony with details, not just say you “grew up Christian”? We walk through Romans 10, connect it to the Great Commission in Matthew 28, and point to key Bible passages on spiritual gifts like 1 Corinthians 12 and 14, Romans 12, Ephesians 4, and 1 Peter 4. We close with next steps for couples and families to become better stewards of what God has given.

  • A Three-Step Spiritual Reset For Couples
    Aug 31 2026

Your marriage doesn’t need another temporary fix. It needs a reboot at the heart level, the kind that happens when we stop making excuses, step into God’s light, and let His Word tell the truth about us. We talk candidly about how sin we don’t deal with, pride we don’t name, and lies we quietly believe can overload the “hard drive” of our souls until we’re tired, reactive, and stuck straddling the fence.

We walk through a simple three-step process you can use anytime: reassess, remember, and remain. Psalm 119 shows us how to come to God with real requests, real need, and real expectancy, while Romans 7 puts language to the ongoing battle between the flesh and the Spirit. Remembering the cross changes what we want, not just what we know. It reshapes how we speak to our spouse, how we respond under stress, and how we move from self-rule to humility.

Then we get practical about remaining. John 15 is clear: we cannot be “half connected” and expect lasting fruit. We share an everyday picture of what happens to a branch that’s barely hanging on, and we apply it to Christian marriage, spiritual renewal, and daily rhythms in God’s Word. We end by praying with David for what so many of us need: “Give me an undivided heart.” If this encouraged you, subscribe, share it with a friend who needs hope, and leave a review so more couples can find biblical marriage help.

  • Swipe Away The Heart Clutter That Hurts Marriage
    Aug 24 2026

Your phone isn’t the only thing that needs a restart. When marriage feels slow, stuck, or weighed down by the same arguments, we’ve learned it’s often because “background apps” are running in the heart: undealt-with sin, anxiety, control, anger, unbelief, and old baggage we keep postponing. We (David and Tracy Sellers) use a simple smartphone habit, double tapping and swiping away what’s draining the system, to help you take an honest look at what’s draining your relationship with God and with your spouse.

From Psalm 51 to Romans 7, we talk plainly about the ongoing fight with sin and why self-deception is so easy. We also go after the sneaky burdens that don’t always look like rebellion at first, like believing untrue things about God or about yourself, or carrying unresolved hurt without a biblical perspective. We address the trap of becoming the judge of your spouse and how unforgiveness can become a weight you end up carrying.

Then we start the marriage reboot process with step one: reassess. Psalm 119 shows us how to bring real “asks” to God, not vague intentions, and 2 Peter 1:3 reminds us that God has already given us everything we need for life and godliness through Jesus Christ. We close with Jeremiah 17 and a direct invitation to let God search your heart and expose the motives beneath your reactions. Subscribe for part two, share this with a couple who needs hope, and leave a review telling us what you want God to reboot in your marriage.

  • What If Happiness Is The Wrong Measure
    Aug 17 2026

Your marriage has a scoreboard, whether you meant to build one or not. We call it the “happiometer” and it’s the hidden gauge that decides if we feel satisfied, irritated, rejected, or “owed” something. When that meter runs our home, we chase quick relief and call it success, even when it pulls us away from God and away from each other.

We zoom in on a thread running through the parables of Jesus: a master offers something worth having, and the listener measures it against their own desires. In Luke 14, the great banquet exposes how easily we trade a life-giving invitation for flimsy distractions. That leads to a simple but uncomfortable marriage question: do you actually know where your spouse is spiritually today, and can you tell their salvation story without guessing? We talk about asking caring questions, having God’s heart for your spouse, and living like the servant who keeps making room at the table.

Then we move to stewardship in Matthew 25 and the talents. Fear buries what God entrusts, but faithfulness multiplies it, including the way we give love without strings attached. Finally, Matthew 20 confronts our obsession with fairness through the workers in the vineyard, reminding us that forgiveness and grace in a Christian marriage flow from God’s generosity, not our deserving.

If you’re searching for biblical marriage help, Christian marriage encouragement, and practical ways to measure success differently, listen through and share it with a couple who needs hope. Subscribe, leave a review, and tell us what your happiometer has been chasing lately.

  • What If Your Marriage Needs Obedience First?
    Aug 10 2026

You can feel it when a marriage reaches that point where you’d do almost anything for a breakthrough. Not the slow kind that takes humility and consistency, but the instant kind. The Miracle Max fix. David and Tracy Sellers start there and get painfully honest about how easy it is to medicate the symptoms of a struggling relationship while avoiding the path that actually leads to marriage healing. If you’ve been living with tension, silence, resentment, or repeating conflict, this conversation aims straight at the heart of it.

We anchor the message in Scripture and in the “miracles of Jesus for your marriage” theme from our Bible for Marriage series. From Jesus’ question at the pool of Bethesda, “Do you want to be made whole?”, to the feeding of the five thousand, the miraculous catch of fish, the raising of a widow’s son, and the healing of a man born blind, one pattern keeps showing up: God brings the power, and our faith and obedience open the channel. We talk about excuses, comfort zones, and the difference between chasing circumstantial change and seeking lasting restoration through God’s Word.

Along the way, we connect everyday stories to biblical truth, including what a tiny motion sickness pill can reveal about our craving for quick relief, and why some people stop three feet short of the help they asked for. If you’re looking for Christian marriage advice, biblical counseling clarity, and hope for marriage restoration that doesn’t depend on hype, you’ll find practical direction here.

  • Your Marriage Grows What Your Hearts Receive
    Aug 3 2026

What if the biggest issue in your marriage isn’t the latest argument, but the soil underneath it? We’re David and Tracy Sellers, and we take Jesus’ Parable of the Sower in Mark 4 and apply it straight to real-life marriage: the unseen heart posture and relationship culture that decides whether God’s Word gets stolen, withers under stress, gets choked by thorns, or grows into a harvest.

We talk about what “marriage soil” looks like on a normal Tuesday: how you can often tell the condition of the ground by the fruit coming out of your home, your tone, your patience, and your ability to reconnect. We also name the rocks and weeds that block growth independence, dishonesty, bitterness, unforgiveness, pride, disunity and the quieter thorns of worries, wealth pressure, and the constant pull of “other things” that steal attention from your spouse.

Then we get practical with five steps to cultivate good soil with the Holy Spirit’s help: get your heart ready, let the seed of Scripture be planted daily, water those seeds by rooting yourself in God’s steady supply, stay in the light with honesty before the Lord, and dig out the weeds and rocks of sin before they choke what’s tender. We even imagine what a 30x, 60x, 100x harvest of peace, gentleness, and love could look like in an ordinary household.

If you want a biblically healthy marriage with deeper roots and lasting fruit, press play, share this with a friend who needs hope, and subscribe for more. After you listen, leave a review and tell us: which “soil” best describes your marriage right now?
