David and Tracy Sellers unpack how the Holy Spirit gives spiritual gifts for a purpose, not for status, and why the best place to see those gifts clearly is often the day-to-day life of a Christian marriage.

We start with the big framework: salvation, the Great Commission, and the church as a team where the Spirit equips every believer. Then we get practical by focusing on supporting gifts that show up at home. We talk about the gift of service and how the same chore can either build closeness or breed resentment depending on attitude. We also ask two questions that cut through confusion: how can a gift show up negatively in marriage, and how can a spouse actively support growth in that gift?

From there we move through mercy, encouragement (exhortation), teaching, and giving. Mercy can make a home feel safe, but it can also drain a spouse emotionally without good boundaries. Encouragers can strengthen faith, yet their correction can feel harsh without self-awareness and accountability. Teachers protect biblical truth, but they carry responsibility that requires real time in God’s Word. And givers can bless others deeply, especially when stewardship and budgeting become a shared mission instead of a fight.
