• How VAs Get Long-Term High-Quality Clients
    Feb 18 2026

Today we're talking about how virtual assistants get the best, long-term, high-quality clients. And keep them.

Getting hired is one thing. Getting kept on long-term is another.

Because there are a lot of virtual assistants who can land a client. But far fewer who keep that client long term, grow the relationship, and become the VA the client never wants to lose.

That's what we want. High quality clients that we can work with for a long time.

What is different about the VAs that the clients never want to lose?

    They're not necessarily more talented.
They don't know more tools or stuff.
    They don't work more hours.

The difference is how they show up once the contract is signed.

So today I want to walk you through the difference between a VA who gets hired and a VA who gets kept long-term, and more importantly, how you can start positioning yourself as the second one.

Long-term clients don't happen by accident. They happen when you build your VA business with structure, confidence, and clarity from the beginning.

That's one of the reasons I created my Getting Started as a Virtual Assistant self-study program.

It walks you through how to set up your services properly, position yourself professionally, and attract the kinds of clients you actually want to work with. Not just whoever says yes first, as tempting as that may be!

Whether you want to get started the right way, or stop all the guessing and uncertainty and start building your VA business the right way, check it out.

Check out the program here: https://getstartedva.com

Start strong. Build smart. And set yourself up to work with clients who stay.

That's all I've got for you this week. I'm Tracey DAviero, The Confidence Coach for Virtual Assistants. Thanks so much for tuning in. I'll see you next time!

  • Raising Your VA Rates Without Burning Bridges
    Feb 11 2026

Here is our fourth and final episode in our four-part series on rates.

And of course, it is about how to raise yours if and when you need to … or want to!

Raising your rates does not require a dramatic announcement, a bold personality shift, or a confrontational conversation.

If you are stuck charging a rate you aren't happy with, you probably feel all three of those things.

And if so, then I'm glad you are listening in today.

Today let's talk about how raising your rates can feel calm, professional, and grounded when it is done from the right place.

Over this mini series, we have talked about:

    • Why your rates are not the real problem
    • What clients actually think about your pricing
    • The hidden cost of undercharging
    • And now, how to raise your rates without burning bridges.

If pricing has been a recurring struggle for you, this is your sign to start looking at yours.

For a sustainable business you need solid rates.

    So now is the time!

If you have been taking lots of notes throughout this four-part podcast series, that should tell you something important!

I want to remind you too, that just because you are struggling with rates it doesn't mean you are doing something wrong.

All it means is your rates don't match your services. Or your level of expertise.

That's why I'm running a live Packages Workshop in a few weeks.

In this workshop, we're going to work on your actual rates. Your best services. How to price those so you can speak really confidently to clients about them. So you can sign them.

If you're ready for pricing to feel simpler, clearer – and much more in line with the value you provide to your clients, you need to register for this workshop.

You can find all the details right here - or drop me a DM and I'll send you the link.

I'm here to help – it's the only reason I'm here at all – to help you become a ridiculously good virtual assistant.

I'll leave you here for this week, thanks so much for tuning in.

I'm Tracey D'Aviero, The Confidence Coach for VAs - and I'll see you next time!

  • The Cost of Not Charging Enough For Your VA Sevices
    Feb 5 2026

This is the third episode in my four part series on rates. Thanks for tuning in. If you haven't listened to the other two yet, make sure to jump back and do that!

Are you simply tolerating what you are earning as a virtual assistant?

Most VAs don't intentionally tolerate a low rate of pay. Most often they don't even realize they are undercharging - or tolerating it - until someone like me questions them on it.

You are probably just trying to be practical, maybe cautious, and limely realistic. And you also might be undercharging.

And undercharging has a cost. And that cost is much higher than most VAs realize.

So today I want to talk about what undercharging is really costing you, beyond the number on the invoice or in your bank account.

Not charging enough affects more than just today. It delays your growth, your confidence, your specialization, and your ability to attract the high-level clients that you can really support well.

It's time for you to grow!

And guess what? You can change your rates TODAY. I changed mine in a day. I went from charging $25/hr one day to $50/hr the next – because I was able to define who I helped and specifically I helped them – and then I got in touch with those people and signed them. I was aligned with that decision. Of course I got help from my business coach to do it.

And you don't need to double your rates, but you might be able to if yours are really too low!

The point is you can raise them and get ready to build the business that you really want to have.

In the next and final episode of this four part rates series, we are going to talk about how to raise your rates without burning bridges, losing clients, or second-guessing yourself.

Most VAs don't struggle with rates because they're doing something wrong. They struggle because their pricing no longer matches the level of work they're actually doing.

That's why I'm running a live Packages Workshop in a few weeks.

In this workshop, we're going to work on your actual rates. Your best services. How to price those so you can speak really confidently to clients about them. So you can sign them.

  • What Clients Really Think About Your Rates
    Jan 28 2026

This is our second episode in our four part series about your rates.

Today, I want to talk about what clients really think about your rates, and why so many virtual assistants are worrying about the wrong things when it comes to pricing.

Most VAs tell themselves stories – maybe not out loud, but they are there, in the back of their minds. Clients are worried about price. Clients want the cheapest option. If I charge more, they will say no. If they hesitate, that means my rate is too high.

We are always so worried about the client and what they think, and we don't want to ask them what they think. People tell us not to worry about what they think. It's this carousel of thoughts, and they aren't really based in anything real.

These stories feel logical. They feel protective. They feel like they are helping you avoid rejection. But most of the time, they are assumptions, not facts. If this sounds familiar to you, these assumptions are probably shaping how you show up in your conversations about pricing.

In the next episode of this mini series, we are going to talk about the hidden cost of undercharging, and why staying at "safe" rates may be costing you far more than you realize.

If pricing has been coming up for you as you listen to this mini series, that's not an accident.

Most VAs don't struggle with rates because they're doing something wrong. They struggle because their pricing no longer matches the level of work they're actually doing.

If that's you, check out my Packages Workshop that I'm running in February.

In this workshop, we're going to focus on turning your services into clear, confident packages that make pricing easier to communicate and easier for clients to say yes to.

This is a hands-on workshop with your actual services – not templates.

Together we will create packages that reflect your experience, set clear work scope and boundaries, and help you stop feeling awkward around price discussions.

If you're ready for your pricing to feel simpler and more aligned, I'd love to support you inside that workshop.

You can find all the details and register here! Or send me a DM and I'll send it over for you.

That's all I've got for you this week, I'll see you next time!

  • Why Your VA Rates Are Not The Problem
    Jan 21 2026

If you are struggling with your rates as a virtual assistant, it probably feels like a pricing problem.

Naturally. We are talking about rates so it seems like that's the culprit if things aren't going right.

You might be thinking you need a better number, a better structure, or more proof that you are allowed to charge more.

But ... your rates are not the real problem.

They are a symptom. And until you address what is underneath them, no pricing strategy will ever feel solid or sustainable.

It starts with figuring it out, then understanding it, and finally totally believing it.

It helps to have the first client say yes, of course, but you've got this! I'm here to help. It's the only reason I'm here at all, to help you become a ridiculously good virtual assistant.

In the next episode of this mini series, we are going to talk about what clients really think about your rates, and why most VAs are worrying about the wrong things entirely.

Because once you understand that, pricing conversations become a lot less scary.

If pricing has been coming up for you as you listen to this mini series, that's not an accident.

Most VAs don't struggle with rates because they're doing something wrong. They struggle because their pricing no longer matches the level of work they're actually doing.

That's why I'm running a live Packages Workshop next month - check it out here:
    https://YourVAMentor.com/va-packages

In this workshop, we're going to focus on turning your services into clear, confident packages that make pricing easier to communicate and easier for clients to say yes to.

This is not about templates or scripts you have to force yourself to use.

    It's about creating packages that:
    ✓ reflect your experience
    ✓ support sustainable income
    ✓ set clear boundaries
✓ and help you stop undercharging without feeling awkward

If you're ready for pricing to feel simpler and more aligned, I'd love to support you inside that workshop.

You can register here or drop me a DM for more details!

I'd love to have you join me.

  • Setting Goals That Support Your Confidence as a VA
    Jan 14 2026

Last episode we talked about planning before goal setting, and that's so important. I hope you got some good takeaways and got your own lookback process done for your VA business.

The new year brings a lot of emotions - a mix of excitement and pressure. Big promises. Big goals. Big declarations.

But confidence does not come from making bold statements. It comes from trusting yourself to follow through in a grounded, realistic way.

This episode is about setting goals that build confidence rather than erode it.

Because the wrong goals do not just fail. They chip away at your belief in yourself.

I am all about helping you build your confidence so you can do the work you want to do with the people you want to work with, and make good money doing it.

This is how confidence is built. One decision at a time.

This is what I help VAs like you with all the time.

Figuring out what you want, how to get it, and what you need to do to start taking those steps toward it.

Goal setting comes first, then the strategy. Let's talk about your goals! Connect with me at YourVAMentor.com/links.

I'm here to help. It's the only reason I'm here at all – to help you become a ridiculously good virtual assistant.

I appreciate you tuning in so much - every single week. I love talking to you and hearing that you love the podcast.

It's my favourite way of connecting with you, and I would love for that to translate into a conversation for us too.

    I'm here when you're ready.

Thanks so much for tuning in this week.

If I haven't talked to you yet, Happy New Year to you and your loved ones – I'll see you next time!

  • The Power of Pausing Before You Plan
    Jan 7 2026

There is a lot of pressure at the end of any year to rush straight into planning. New planners. New goals. New intentions. New versions of ourselves.

As a matter of fact my to-do list has exactly that type of stuff right at the top of it right now.

What do I want to do? What do I need to plan it? What exciting new things will I do?

But reflection is the part most people skip.

And when reflection is skipped, the same patterns quietly repeat themselves.

This episode is not about fixing anything. It is not about setting goals yet. It is about slowing down long enough to actually see what this year gave you, what it took from you, and what it revealed about how you operate as a business owner.

Because clarity does not come from pushing forward harder. It comes from looking back honestly.

I have a lookback process that I have done with my clients that walks through a lot more than just how much money you made or whether you liked all your clients and work or not.

Looking back at what you have done can show you the bad stuff that you don't want to repeat, but also all the good stuff that you might not have even realized happened.

This past year probably stretched you in ways you did not expect. Some of those stretches were good. Some were uncomfortable. Some may have felt disappointing.

Instead of labeling the year as good or bad, successful or unsuccessful, this is your invitation to look at it as information.

Information about how you make decisions.
Information about how you handle uncertainty.
Information about where your confidence showed up and where it disappeared.

And use that information to make this year better!

Get help when you don't know how to do something. It could be a simple coaching call, or a short course, or maybe you do need longer term help with accountability.

Whatever it is, know that there are options and you can move forward when you invest in getting help.

When I work with VAs one of the things I tell them is that I teach them things ONCE, that they can continue to apply over and over again. They are fundamentals. So if you need help with some fundamentals, reach out.

Connect with me at YourVAMentor.com/links and let's chat.

In the next episode, we will talk about setting goals that actually support who you are becoming, not who you think you should be.

But for now, let reflection do its quiet work.

Pause. Then plan. It's a much better way to do it.

Thanks so much for tuning in this week. I'm Tracey D'Aviero, The Confidence Coach for Virtual Assistants. I'll see you next time!

  • Clients Who Will Pay a Premium Price For the Support They Need
    Dec 9 2025

In this episode, we are talking about a really important mindset shift you must make as a virtual assistant.

It is also one that will directly affect how much you earn, the kind of clients you work with, and how your business grows. See? Important, right!??

We are talking about clients who gladly pay premium prices for the support they need.

Not the budget shoppers. Not the tire kickers. Not the people who say they want help and then disappear when you send your rates.

We are talking about the clients who appreciate expertise. The ones who value your time. The ones who understand return on investment. The ones who want their business to grow and will pay well for the right support.

And yes, there are many of them.

Even if you haven't found any yet, don't make the mistake thinking that they aren't out there. Because I guarantee you - they are.

Today we will walk through why premium clients exist, what they are really paying for, and how you can position your VA business to attract them.

If today's episode helped you rethink who you are meant to work with, I would love for you to share it with another VA who needs this message too.

And as always, if you want support in stepping into this version of your business, my programs and workshops are designed to help you make confident, sustainable progress every single week.
