This week I'm delighted to share with you my conversation with Mattis Orgel.

Mattis founded one of the UK's leading kitchen manufacturers and suppliers, and his journey to get there is nothing short of remarkable.

So often we watch businesses from the outside seeing the build, seeing the development, seeing the growth, but rarely do we understand the long and arduous path that it took to get there.

Mattis doesn't shy away from sharing about his challenge with ADHD, how it helped form his vision for the business but how it also set up tremendous obstacles that he had to learn to circumvent.

Stick around to the end where you'll hear about financial policies when it comes to borrowing money to help fuel growth for business, and how refusing to rely on debt has helped carry the business through difficult times.

Maxi was somebody I reached out to before I even launched my first episode. At the time, I had little to show for myself, and Maxi declined my request for a conversation.

Fast forward, and gratefully we managed to lock down a time to meet and talk.

Maxi is a larger than life character and we enjoyed a fascinating conversation where he shared personal opinions and experiences on a broad range of topics, including building and scaling a business, dealing with personal setbacks and early childhood hardships, learning how to cut out the noise and stay focused on the end goal and perhaps most importantly, a valuable lesson in learning to build a healthy relationship with the ever growing demands on our attention from technology.
