• The Origin (Part V) | What Happened When Life Taught Me the Hard Way
    Sep 23 2026

Life does not ask permission before it changes.

It doesn't send a calendar invitation or warn us that one phone call, diagnosis, loss, or unexpected responsibility may change everything.

After sharing so much of my story throughout The Origin, Part V asks a different question:

What did all of it teach me?

In this episode, I share some of the lessons that fundamentally changed the way I understand preparation, love, strength, boundaries, money, time, and hope.

I learned that preparation doesn't have to come from fear.

Being prepared can be an act of love.

    Strong people still need help.

    Healthy boundaries can protect relationships.

Money is emotional—because underneath many financial decisions are feelings such as fear, hope, guilt, responsibility, shame, and generosity.

And ordinary moments matter more than we sometimes realize.

But perhaps the greatest lesson was understanding that my story didn't only happen to me.

    Maybe it happened through me.

Maybe lived experience can help someone else prepare sooner, have a difficult conversation, create a financial safeguard, seek support, or simply realize they're not alone.

I didn't share my story because it's extraordinary.

I shared it because it's true.

And sometimes truth is where freedom begins.

  • The Origin (Part IV) | The Cost of Wisdom: Rebuilding After the Crisis
    Sep 16 2026

The crisis eventually ends. But sometimes the consequences remain long after everything becomes quiet.

In Part IV of The Origin, I reflect on what happened when my house became empty again—and I finally had enough space to feel what years of caregiving, loss, financial strain, and responsibility had left behind.

Rebuilding taught me that financial recovery isn't only about making more money. I had to rebuild my thinking, understand protection differently, learn what preparation actually means, and recognize the connection between compassion and stewardship.

I also began asking a different question—not simply, How do I get out of this? but What is this season trying to teach me?

Some lessons cost money. Some cost time. Some cost relationships. Some cost tears.

But hard-earned wisdom can become something we use—not only to live differently ourselves, but perhaps to help someone else avoid a mistake or feel less alone.

This is a conversation about grief, money, preparation, faith, generosity, and becoming wiser without becoming harder.

  • The Origin (Part III) | When Grief Changes the Questions You Ask
    Sep 9 2026

We usually think grief is about missing someone.

But grief can also change the questions we ask about everything that remains.

In Part III of The Origin, I reflect on experiencing multiple losses and realizing that I wasn't only grieving the people I loved. I was also grieving the future I thought I would have with them.

Eventually, that grief reached beyond death.

It changed the way I thought about relationships, companionship, hope, and whether the life I had imagined for myself was still possible.

This episode explores what happens when loss changes your internal landscape—and why difficult questions don't necessarily mean you've stopped believing in what is still possible.

Loss taught me something else, too:

Birthdays matter. Conversations matter. Trips matter. Holding someone's hand matters. Ordinary Tuesdays matter.

    Grief may change the questions.

But grief does not have to write the ending.

  • The Origin (Part II) | Compassion AND Stewardship: Why You Must Protect Your Foundation
    Sep 2 2026

What happens when helping the people you love becomes something you can no longer sustain in the same way?

In Part II of The Origin, Wanda continues the story of opening her home to family—and slowly becoming the person responsible for keeping everything moving.

    There was no villain.

There was family navigating difficult circumstances, and there was someone determined to help.

But groceries became more expensive. Household costs grew. Savings began shrinking. Loans entered the picture. And what initially felt temporary continued longer than expected.

Looking back, Wanda recognizes an important distinction:

“I wasn't making financial decisions anymore. I was making emotional decisions with financial consequences.”

This episode explores the space where compassion, money, responsibility, and stewardship meet—and why protecting your own foundation does not make you selfish.

Because generosity and preparation were never supposed to be enemies.

  • The Origin (Part I) | When Life Changes the Plan
    Aug 26 2026

We make plans for the future we can imagine.

We save money. We work. We set goals. We prepare.

But life sometimes introduces circumstances we could never have predicted.

In Part I of Episode 23 of The Liberating River, Wanda begins unpacking a period of her life when one unexpected event followed another—from losing her father and recovering from COVID to buying her first home, experiencing injury, supporting loved ones through serious health challenges, and unexpectedly becoming part of a much larger household.

Then another loss changed the plan completely.

This episode explores the difference between planning responsibly and believing we can predict life—and why an unexpected outcome doesn't necessarily mean you made a bad decision.

Sometimes you didn't miss the signs.

Sometimes the information simply wasn't available yet.

The Liberating River explores mindset, spirituality without religion, financial awareness, and the deeper thinking that shapes how we live.

  • The Box You Never Chose (Part XI) | What If This Is Your Boat?
    Aug 19 2026

What if the help you've been asking for has already arrived—but you dismissed it because it didn't look the way you expected?

In Part XI of The Box You Never Chose, Wanda returns to the familiar story of the man in the flood and asks a different question:

Will you recognize the boat when it comes?

Sometimes disruption reveals what can no longer support our future. Sometimes discomfort is direction. And sometimes what looks unfamiliar—a new idea, an unexpected opportunity, a necessary boundary, a different relationship with money, or a harder spiritual question—is exactly what invites us beyond an inherited identity.

This conversation explores the difference between faith and rigidity, trust and control, surrender and passivity, struggle and financial empowerment, and identity and performance.

Because the boxes we inherited may have shaped us. Some may even have helped us survive.

But they do not have to become the final definition of our lives.

Maybe the box was never meant to contain you forever. Maybe it was meant to become your springboard.

  • The Box you Never Chose (Part X) | The Freedom IS Between 'OR' and 'AND'
    Aug 12 2026

Freedom isn't simply leaving a limiting belief.

Sometimes freedom begins by realizing you never chose the identity you have been living.

In Part X of The Box You Never Chose, we explore inherited identities surrounding spirituality, money, struggle, success, and self-worth. We examine why so many people pursue financial freedom while remaining loyal to inherited beliefs about scarcity, struggle, and worthiness.

This conversation introduces a powerful shift—from living in "or" to embracing "and."

Because perhaps your liberation has never been about choosing one side of yourself.

Perhaps it has always been about becoming whole.

    This week's invitation is simple:

    Name the box.

    Awareness is where transformation begins.

  • The Box You Never Chose (Part IX) | The Cost of Performing Yourself
    Aug 5 2026

There comes a point when success is no longer enough.

You begin to feel disconnected, exhausted, and strangely unseen—not because you’re failing, but because you’ve been performing a version of yourself that no longer fits.

In Part IX of The Box You Never Chose, Wanda explores identity exhaustion, the hidden cost of living inside inherited expectations, and the subtle signs that reveal when you’ve outgrown the roles you’ve been carrying.

    Together, we examine:

    • Identity exhaustion
    • Why people cannot fully love a performed version of you
    • The deeper meaning behind “missing the boat”
    • Resentment as a messenger
    • Envy as information
    • Chronic self-explanation
    • The fear of becoming someone new
    • Why “either/or” thinking keeps us trapped

Sometimes the greatest obstacle isn’t the box itself.

It’s believing you still need it.
