  • One Year In – I Can Only Be Me!
    Aug 5 2025

In this heartfelt anniversary episode, I’m reflecting on my podcast journey—from day one to now. I didn’t start with a studio or fancy mic. I started with what I had, and that was enough. I recorded using Audacity, hosted on rss.com, and later transitioned to Spotify for Podcasters, where this show truly found its rhythm.

This episode is part celebration, part testimony, and all real talk. 🙌🏾 I’m sharing how episode ideas can come from anywhere—like my Season 1 favorite, “Seasons of Life,” inspired by my pastor’s wife. I also talk about staying creative, knowing your audience, and getting support (yes, even from ChatGPT!).

    Then we dig deeper…
I get personal about fear, doubt, and what it really means to walk in your calling. I share a powerful word from Christian comedian Jason Crawford, who said:

“If God didn’t give you the spirit of fear, then where did you get it from?”

That’s a question that will check your spirit, right? Jason reminded me—and I’m reminding you—fear shows up where knowledge is missing. Sometimes we’re just ignorant of our own greatness.

    He also dropped this gem:

“If you want to direct the orchestra, you have to turn your back on the crowd.”

    Whew. Let that sit.

That quote led me straight into the word God gave me for 2025:
    FOCUS.

No more people-pleasing. No more comparing. No more asking for permission to be who God called you to be.

PLUS — I’m excited to officially announce my brand-new podcast course:
🎓 Podcast Course From Scratch 🎓
For the aspiring podcaster who doesn’t have a mic, a team, or a clue where to begin — I’ve got you. I walk you through mindset, tech, branding, and more.

Whether you're just starting out or you’ve been podcasting but feeling stuck, this episode is here to remind you:

    You don’t need perfect.
    You don’t need everyone’s approval.
You just need PURPOSE — and consistency.

    💬 DECLARATION:

“I am called, capable, and consistent.
I will share my voice and walk in my gift.
    I will not quit.”

💜 Thank you for rocking with me this past year.
If this episode spoke to you:

    ✅ Leave a review
✅ Share it with someone sitting on a dream

  • Beauty Ain’t Always Pretty: The Power of Choosing Your Shine
    Jul 29 2025

What if the most beautiful people weren’t the most “pretty”? What if beauty wasn’t about filters, lashes, or angles — but about peace, presence, and purpose?

In this episode, Lori shares a deeply personal story about a young girl from church whose kindness, joy, and God-given light made her unforgettable — even though others said she "wasn't attractive." Her legacy still teaches us: beauty isn’t always pretty, and ugly isn’t always about appearance — it’s about spirit.

Through storytelling, truth, and faith, Lori challenges the way we define beauty and gives us permission to rewrite the narrative.

    💬 Here’s what you’ll hear:

    • The tongue-twister that sparks a heart-level reflection

    • A moving story that redefines “beautiful”

    • The difference between pretty packaging and powerful presence

    • Why inner light will always outlast outward looks

    • Proverbs 31:30 and what it really means in our everyday lives

📖 “Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.” — Proverbs 31:30 (KJV)

✨ This episode is for the woman who’s been called “too much,” “not enough,” or never “the pretty one.”
Sis, you don’t need permission to shine. You were born to be radiant. You are her.

    🎙️ Say this with Lori:

“I shine because I choose light. My beauty is not for likes — it’s for legacy.”

    Jul 22 2025

Season 3 is here, y’all—and I had to start it off with something real, raw, and spirit-filled.

In this episode, I’m sitting down with Nasya Shepard, the powerful woman behind Mirakul Moments. Nasya is someone whose presence speaks peace, and her story is full of divine alignment, obedience, and the kind of healing you can feel in your soul.

We talk about the birth of Mirakul Moments, how her faith journey shaped her purpose, and what it truly means to walk through life expecting God to show up. Her voice, her heart, and her story are a reminder that miracles aren’t just one-time events—they’re a lifestyle.

    In this episode, we explore:

    • How Nasya recognized her calling through pain and surrender

    • Why healing is layered, emotional, and necessary

  • Becoming Who You Were Before They Told You Who To Be-Not becoming someone new — becoming who you already were.
    Jun 3 2025

Welcome back to Just Lori, I Can Only Be Me — the podcast that empowers authenticity, one story at a time. I’m your host, VaLora, but you can call me Lori. ✨

This week, we’re not talking about becoming someone new. We’re talking about returning — to the bold, beautiful, whole version of yourself that existed before the world tried to edit you.

Before the degrees, before the pressures, before society whispered (or shouted) its expectations — you were already complete. Already art. Already powerful. 🌀

In this episode, we’re giving ourselves permission to:
    • 🖤 Unlearn the scripts we were handed
    • ✨ Remember the version of ourselves untouched by doubt
    • 🌸 Reclaim our voice, our power, and our presence — softly, boldly, unapologetically

    • What’s one belief you’ve unlearned recently?

    • What part of your younger self are you ready to welcome back today?

    • Whisper to yourself: “I was always enough.”

    🎧 In This Episode:

    • The Inheritance of Conditioning: How the voices around us shaped our inner voice

    • The Power of Unlearning: Why shedding those expectations is sacred work

    • Remembering Who You Were: Rekindling the original fire within you

    • Reclaiming With Intention: Not fixing — unfolding into your truest self

This isn’t about nostalgia — it’s about truth. It’s about honoring the YOU that was always there, waiting for permission to bloom again.

    "Before they named me wrong,
    I was wind and rhythm.
    Dirt and divinity.
Laughter wrapped in baby fat and braided prayers..."

Catch the full piece inside the episode — a love letter to the version of you that’s still dancing, still dreaming, still becoming.

💭 Reflection Prompts:🌟 Spoken Word Moment:

🌸 Breathe deep. Create boldly. Reclaim softly. 🌸

  • Mindset & Alignment: Break Through the Noise From the Inside Out
    May 27 2025

You’ve been praying for visibility… but hiding in plain sight.
You’ve been asking for elevation… but thinking like you’re still in survival mode.

    Whew.

    Let’s talk about it.

In this episode, Lori brings the fire with a message that blends faith, mindset, alignment, and real-talk strategy, standing out in a world full of noise and comparison.

Whether you’re a creative, entrepreneur, purpose-driven visionary, or someone just trying to get unstuck, this episode is your reminder that clarity is louder than hype, and you don’t need to scream to be seen—you just need to be aligned.

    • Why your mindset is the soil where your purpose either grows or dies

    • A real talk breakdown of Romans 12:2 (KJV)—because this isn’t just scripture, it’s a strategy

    • What divine alignment looks like (hint: it’s not perfection, it’s position)

    • How to stop being “salesy” and start being a solution

    • What happens when your mission and mindset finally match

“You can’t walk in purpose while thinking in fear. You can’t ask for new levels while recycling old lies.”

“I don’t shrink to make others comfortable. I shine so others remember what’s possible.”

“When your thoughts are aligned, your steps get in position.”

“Be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind…” — Romans 12:2 (KJV)
God doesn’t need your performance. He wants your perspective to shift—because your mind is the place where your mission takes root.

Old Belief: “There are already too many people doing what I do.”
New Truth: “I am not a copy—I’m the original. There are people out there waiting for me to show up.”

Take 10 minutes and write down:

    • One belief keeping you small

    • Flip it with the truth

    • Say it aloud every day for 7 days
Your mindset will shift—and so will your momentum.
