    Roxanna Panufnik is a renowned classical composer. Initially studying at the Royal Academy of Music in 1980s, Roxanna has written everything from opera to choral works, ballet to chamber compositions. In 2023, she was one of 12 composers asked to compose a new work for the coronation of King Charles III and Camilla. In 2024, Roxanna was awarded the Ivor Novello Award for Outstanding Works Collection at The Ivors Classical Awards. Here she talks to Peter about the joys of composing and the importance of brushing your teeth!

    Since 2010, Nick has also been visiting Gaza, initially as a teacher, leading teams out of Oxford to teach medical students and doctors. More recently, Nick has been going out with the British charity Medical Aid for Palestine (MAP). In January 2024, Nick led the first medical team into Gaza following the attacks of October 7th and went again in April and May last year. This episode contains distressing content.

    Sarah Standing got an early start as a journalist when she won the Vogue Young Writers competition at the age of 14. Sarah continued to write over the next 40 years for publications including GQ, The Telegraph, Tatler, and The Spectator. During the pandemic, Sarah was unexpectedly diagnosed with non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, which meant she had to undergo chemotherapy during lockdown. Sarah subsequently wrote her memoir, Dancing with the Red Devil, which captures this time with both humour and sensitivity.
