Unter tausenden Publikationen ist hier eine Geschichte, die sehr ideenreich für Spannung sorgt. Ben Allen transportiert die Atmosphäre und Charaktere zu einer Live Session of Jazz.
Die Folgebücher habe ich auch verschlungen, allerdings nicht als Hörbuch. Es ist zu enttäuschend, dass Ben Allen diese nicht mehr liest.

If jazz history and high-end stereo are your thing, you will enjoy this rather rambling narrative which takes you through charity shops, jumble sales and anywhere else where old vinyl is on sale. Oh and yes, it's also for cat lovers.

... to remove all the fanciful adjectives, the redundant dialogue and the sexism. Story okay.

In desperate need of an editor

Don't even get me started on the badly written dialogue ("I said:" "I said:" "I said:") or the sexist stereotypes (the mysterious woman who becomes the protagonist's girlfriend is astonishingly beautiful, afraid of getting dirty and mostly interested in fashion). Having read the previous reviews, the lack of atmosphere was rather surprising. Especially the protagonist's love for good coffee or his visits to record shops. These are described without any original observations, loving details or surprising insights. A chatbot could do a better job here. Too long, too boring and - as someone else has already pointed out - in desperate need of a good editor.
