dreary
The voice actor doesn't have a bad voice but his rhythm and tone grate on my nerves, it's always a bit too fast and a bit too monotone.
Character interactions are stilted and unorganic, especially conversations/discussions can change directions so fast and without any reason that they're hard to follow and can rip the reader/listener out of the flow of the story.
Characters overall are extremly dreary without a big selection of secondary character traits wich makes it hard to differentiate between most characters. Most characters can almost entirely be categorized by a slider from "resigned, sad and dreary" to "angry, sad and dreary".
I also don't understand why these ppl are so afraid of other ppl with strong flame powers, the leader can just put them in a place where they don't endanger other ppl or important structures and then they can let loose without any problems.
The whole world building is hampered by too much irrelevant information in the exposition dumps while important things like their governing body are not explained at all, one has to try to piece together clues throughout the story to get a muddled picture of the structure.
In short I don't like this story.
