Frodo and the Companions of the Ring have been beset by danger during their quest to prevent the Ruling Ring from falling into the hands of the Dark Lord by destroying it in the Cracks of Doom. They have lost the wizard, Gandalf, in the battle with an evil spirit in the Mines of Moria; and at the Falls of Rauros, Boromir, seduced by the power of the Ring, tried to seize it by force. While Frodo and Sam made their escape the rest of the company were attacked by Orcs.

Now they continue their journey alone down the great River Anduin – alone, that is, save for the mysterious creeping figure that follows wherever they go.

Einfach spitze erzählt. Das ist Buch 3 von 6. es erzählt die Geschichte von Aragon , Legolas , Gimli, und von Mary und Pippin. Vom Zeitrahmen wo Pippin und Mary entführt werden bis zum Zeitpunkt wo Pippin und Gandalf nach Minas Tirith reiten.

I think i dont have to repeat that the story is great, but somehow i imagine Tolkien would talk like this if he read the book out loud

Rob Ingles sounds somewhat like Tolkien

Dass englische Hörbücher ein hocheffektiver Englisch-Dauerkurs sind, ist ja schon herrlich. Aber Rob Ingles liest auf so leichte, ungekünstelte Weise und doch so dicht, dass ich sicher war, ich sitze mit Gandalf an einem spiegelglatten See bei Nacht, die nicht endet, an einem knisternden Feuer, das nie erlischt. All diese Stunden, keine Sekunde zuviel, ein Paralleluniversum vom Feinsten, genau das hat Rob Ingles hier geschaffen. Bei meinem Kaffee am Morgen, im Bus, auf endlosen Spaziergängen oder beim Laufen, ich gönne mir das richtig - Tolkien-Time ist grad Me-Time. Und mein Englisch: Update! Viel zuwenig Sterne für dieses HörGlück.🙌🏽

Rob Inglis' audio books are by far the best audio books to lord of the rings I have listened to till now. They are not read as if part of the films, which seems to also be the case in Andy Serkis' interpretation, but as I believe Tolkien himself interpreted it

as if read by Tolkien himself!

Ich mag Herr der Ringe, allerdings find ich die Gesänge zwischendurch anstrengend. Der Sprecher macht es sehr gut.
