The stories are not extraordinary but still entertaining. The main redeeming quality is the narrator, who does a most excellent job at reading them.

Als Krimi jetzt nicht wirklich spannend, aber ich kann mir schlimmeres vorstellen als Stephen Fry auf der Bettkante oder im Atelier sitzen zu haben und mir Geschichten zu erzählen.

Stephen Fry is brilliant as ever and Max Carrados is enormous fun to follow. I am a great Holmes fan and had never heard of these stories before. When I read they came in the Strand at the same time together I was intrigued and the experiment payed off 100%.
